Re: LGS 8.30 is now available for G-Series keyboards

Updating trough the LGS from 8.20 to 8.30 breaks the previous 8.30 install and keeps it on your system so you have both 8.20 and 830 installed with no way to uninstall 8.20.

[ Edited ]

These drivers are still TERRIBLE. I cannot use almost any apps for it. The button does not switch to other apps. I use EVGA Precision and I can have other apps enabled but I can never switch to any of them. None of the app buttons do ANYTHING! Most of the included Logitech apps are absent from the list and cannot be enabled.

This is freakin' ridiculous! I've waited for a new release for a long time and these are just as broken as 8.20. The only version that worked before was 8.12. I am going to have to go back to that because your software engineers are clearly incompetent. I have used Logitech products exclusively since the early 90s for all my mice and keyboard needs but this is about to change unless these is a fix very, very soon. I paid a lot of money for my 2x G19s and my G13. How hard can this be? Whatever you broke after 8.12 needs to be fixed. I've never had cause to complain about Logitech until now but this is a big deal. You guys are slipping. And why the heck do you guys take so long to get these updates out? I want more frequent driver updates that actually fix broken things. What a mess.

Re: LGS 8.30 is now available for G-Series keyboards

About media switch to foreground

Yes It is almost fixed, it auto switches if i start for the first time, on 2nd try it fails and I have to manually press the button..

Same thing just happened in wmp12, it auto switched to foreground on 1st try, on 2nd it fails.

At least its half-way fixed, hopefully its under control in 8.40 :smileyhappy:

@ ZapperWeisman

I had the same issue with LGS after my initial install. I had uninstalled 8.20 from control panel and then installed 8.3. After a restart, I was noticing the issues you are describing as well. My precision wasn't working, missing apps, etc, etc.

All I did to fix it was to install 8.3 again over top the previous 8.3 install, now everything is working fine again. Seems there is some sort of issue with the installer or something.

Resume from sleep is STILL broken in 8.30. Win 7 x64.

Absolutely ridiculous. Stop outsourcing your coding to the lowest-paid monkeys that you can find.

Re: LGS 8.30 is now available for G-Series keyboards

I'm using Win7 x64 and resume from sleep has been working fine on my G15 and G13 using LGS 8.30. As a data point I don't let this computer use hybrid sleep (where after a while it will hibernate). It only goes into sleep mode and wakes with a press of a keyboard key. Perhaps that makes a difference. For me things are markedly improved from the behavior of LGS 8.20.

Re: LGS 8.30 is now available for G-Series keyboards

I just change my GTX 570 SLI for a GTX 670 yesterday. But I was having big problems with my cards that ends up to be defective so I've replace it with a new one today and now it works.

But here's what I've discover while searching for my problems on Nvidia forum.

1 - There is a problem with Nvidia driver since 301.xx up to 301.43 that has been identify by Nvidia but not been fix yet. Having Vsync on in a game will cause stuttering issue. (They said a fix would be made in June)

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=226227

2 - I saw a lot of poste of people complaning about performance and crash coming out of nowere since they upgraded to 301.xx. (A lot more then useal)

3 - EVGA made a recall on all there first batch of 600 serie due to hardware problems and decresing performance.

4 - Even a rumour was publish that Nvidia would do a recall on all 600 serie due to decresing performance and crash. (This as been denied by some staff that work for Nvidia but the rumours occured because a lot of people are having a lot of trouble right now with Hardware and Software)

With all this said, I think that some of those problems may be related with MANY PEOPLE (not saying all) having some problem with Nvidia and Lcore.exe

OK, I'll try to answer a couple things in here:

@ZapperWeisman: I've noticed that happens occasionally when the list of expected running applets gets borked. You can also manually start them from C:\Program Files\Logitech Gaming Software\Applets\ and they should start up fine after your next reboot.

If not, then I'll have to have a talk with QA.

@cmdwedge - This does not happen on my work laptop, on my home gaming PC, nor on my girlfriend's gaming laptop. I cannot replicate this on sleep nor hibernate. Can you share a bit more about your hardware setup?

@LeVvE - That really should not happen? Try uninstalling LGS 8.30, reinstalling LGS 8.20, removing 8.20, then reinstalling 8.30. Probably there's a permissions issue somewhere that caused the files to not get removed properly, and reinstalling then uninstalling 8.20 might be the easiest way to resolve this.

Re: LGS 8.30 is now available for G-Series keyboards

I tried reinstalling the latest version over the existing installation as suggested by another user. This did not work. I tried what you suggested and it also did nothing. The app screen is stuck on whatever it happens to load. Many apps from the default apps are just missing. The switch button, the arrows and the other app related buttons do nothing. Apps are completely broken this this machine. This is Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1.

I upgraded and formatted my another PC last week which also has a G19 on it and did a fresh install of the 8.30 software and it works fine on a fresh install.

This machine which is an older install and has seen many versions of the Logitech Gaming Software and has been broken for a long time now. I think 8.12 was the last version that worked. When upgrading I always uninstalled the old software, rebooted and then installed the newest software. This has been broken for a very long time. This needs to be fixed and I do not want to format my system just to fix this. Please talk to QA or whoever else you need to. I gotta have an answer to this please.

Thank you for the response.
