Logitech G13 random blocks

I have a Logitech G13 gaming board for about 3 months now and using it in Star Wars the Old Republic. I have tried many things to solve the below described issue but did not manage so far.

At random moments during game (I can only assume it has something to do with the speed of using buttons / joystick and / or potentially with their combination but I have no proof) either the device is frozen (e.g. pushing a G button will do nothing in the game) or it starts random applications in the background (e.g opening a browsing page).

The software is up to date, the profile is linked to the game and the keys used in game should not lead to "unwanted" combinations - e.g. no key binds on Ctrl, Alt, Shift etc ... just numbers (on both numpad and regular pad). I also use a Logitech keyboard in the same time (just plugged in but never push buttons of the 2 devices in the same time).

The solution I always use (although it is not very comfortable) is Alt - tabbing and restarting the support software for G13. Sometimes this can be done from the exit options of the application but sometimes that can not be used and I have to close the process in the task manager (the mouse also becomes non responsive or has a weird behavior like for example left-clicking on a desktop icon selects several etc).

Has anybody encountered similar issues and can suggest a solution?

Re: Logitech G13 random blocks

try enabling either the "persistent" option to lock your Star Wars profile as the active profile, or use the "lock profile while game is running" option to ensure that other applications that grab focus don't also cause your active profile to change.

Re: Logitech G13 random blocks

Hi

Thx for the input.

Edit>Profile Properties>Lock profile while game is running was already enabled.

Settings>Profiler>Profile>Enable Persisent Profile I have enabled now.

The result is the same

Re: Logitech G13 random blocks

only other thing I can think of is that a modifier key is getting stuck in the down state (alt, ctrl or shift, or possibly a combination of them).  this can occur if you have too many keys all pressed at once.  the G13 itself can handle having all its keys pressed at once, but Windows can only accept a certain number of keys from the Logitech Virtual Keyboard Driver.  I don't know whether this is a limitation of Windows, or the Logitech driver.

anyway, if you exceed that limit, funky things can happen.  there was a thread about this several weeks (or maybe months) ago and I don't recall if a solution was ever identified for it.  I don't typically see this problem myself because my scripts don't usually hold down very many keys at once.

Re: Logitech G13 random blocks

i am having the same problem it stated last month. i have been using the g13 since febuary with swtor and no problems till august. it only does it in a group setting like pvp or fp or an op i have been back and fourth with swtor tech support and have gone as far as refomating and clean install of window 7 and still does it. i know i didnt really help but at least your not alone i put in a ticket with logitech as swtor ts requested. i feel it is the game i can play for hours with it as soon as i enter a group 5 to10 programs launch causing sw to minimize and i have to close the windows and then i can re enter the game. is this what you are having happen?
