Hey,
Razer and Steelseries have both released mechanical keyboards which outclass standard keyboards in every way. Will there be one from logitech as well?

Hi,
I agree with Leopardi. I don't really like my G510 due to dim backlights and software and booting problems however I do enjoy the feel of the keys and media controls.
Hence if Logitech will launch a new, improved, backlighted, mechanical keyboard I'm in!

Is there like a petition that we can sign so Logitech will finally have no choice but to make a mechanical keyboard (or two)!?

^ Same here. I joined this forum for the sole purpose of adding to this thread, and voicing my desire for a mechanical keyboard designed by Logitech. Mechanical switches seem to be the only thing missing from the G110 I am using currently to make this keyboard perfect.
I've been wanting to switch to a mechanical keyboard for a while now, but there are no options available at the moment that have dedicated media buttons (no function key), macro buttons, and illuminated keys in one package. The Razer Blackwidow Ultimate comes close, but still lacks the dedicated media buttons and the wrist rest that's ever so important.
If Logitech ever makes a mechanical keyboard, I'll be a happy customer (again).

Same, I'm an old thread resurecter but I feel like Logitech would please SO many customers if they made a cherry MX keyboard (brown or blue) with LED backlit (no screen or useless macros please, just a good **bleep** keyboard) with a wrist rest and a usb hub. I heard logitech was in a bad spot, I'm not working for them, but that's just my opinion, as a customer and an active overclock.net member I can tell that there's thousands of people that switched from a g15 to a mech keyboard, and if you EVER want to make a keyboard, here's what's people are looking for, hope you guys can fill that up:
-sub 100$ price range
-LED backlit
-Cherry mx brown or blue keys
-Wrist rest (removable or not)
-USB/AUDIO 2.0 or 3.0 HUB
-Media keys
Optional (but completely useless for most real gamers, NOT the gimmicky ones):
-Macro keys
-PS/2 adapter or directly PS/2 (so much better than USB for gaming)
-Gold plated connector and sleeved cables (although it's mostly for looks)
-Different colors for WASD keys?
What we DON'T want:
-Useless LCD screen, I have a cellphone, tv and a two 27 inch monitors for my youtubes and that screen raises the cost
-Fans like the thermaltake keyboard (lol)
-Wireless keyboard (it simply s**** to be honest)
-An enormous size factor like the g15 (the weight is ok, but the size kills it)
-Cheap and weak platic ( I feel like I don't really need to tell this one, because in general, logitech products are quite awesome and I never had a problem with the quality)
So that's pretty much it, I really hope my message shall be read/heard, I'm sure I'm not the only one that wishes a mech keyboard from Logitech, I don't know if a post like this might help you, but heck, I felt like it could,
Thanks a lot for reading through that, and yes, I did register only for that! (never had to rma or ask anything on the forums, because there's usually no need to ;D )

As stated above, a mechanical keyboard with most of the other features of the G-series will be an absolute winner.
Here's what I see the ideal "G820" being:
- $140 to $180 range
- Cherry MX Brown class keys
- G13 type LCD with G19 resolution (no need for colour, not that it's expensive nowadays, but more space for applets like SirReal's would be welcome)
- G510 type backlight (possibility to tweak WASD keys extra and extra)
- Macro keys (two columns like the G19 at most)
- (optional) USB3 hub
- NO sound card. Less then 1 in 50 people use that, it's a waste of material.
- Logitech's sturdy build quality+
