G13 LCD screen only displays 'G13', manual button doesnt work. Screen can light and change color. Just no information.

Running windows xp sp3, with the latest g13 software from the website. The application crashes. But the gamepad itself works and is very enjoyable to use. I just want the LCD screen to do something.

One thing I found to be helpful is to disable the programs in the LDC manager software that I don't really make use of.

Open the the Logitech LCD Manager, also known as the "GamePanelManager" from the Key Profiler. 

Click the Programs icon on the left side of the window and disable any of the listed programs that you don't use. This could help cut down on the memory the LDC manager software is using and limit the chances of any particular feature of the LCD manager software from causing "crashes" on your system.

i'll definately try that for the crashing, but im still wondering why the display panel only shows 'G13' it doesnt cycle to anything else. Is there something similiar to UAC in XP that i should change?

The LCD Manager is not running on your machine.  The G-series Keyboard Software is two separate applications - the Profiler, which lets you program keys, and the LCD Manager, which controls what displays on the LCD.  If LCDMon.exe is crashing, you will not see anything on the LCD.

I'll try that when i get home. Is the LCD manager the same application that allows me to configure the applets? Cause i can get that to launch and theres an app icon in the taskbar. Same with the app that manages the keyboard. Is there some sort of windows xp setting or possibly Firewall, antivir or spyware app that could be blocking it?

Which application is crashing?  If you can configure the keys and the applets, then I'm not sure what is crashing since those are the two applications that ship with the product.

the crashing was for the issue with the apps hanging for awhile. The main issue im having involves the LCD screen only displaying G13, and not displaying anything else. Button cycles dont work, but the pad itself is usable and configurable as a game pad, the LCD screen just doesnt display any information other than G13

so does anyone out there have a solution? Is it a faulty game pad? i just want what i paid for. And i've been a loyal logitech customer since 2000 and have owned multiple items. In fact i just bought the g9 today. I just want my gamepad to work. Im still waiting for customer support to reply to my email.

The G13 logo is the standard display for the device after it has enumerated.  Its presence means that the device is detected by the PC, but the LCD Manager does not see it.  Is there another PC you could test this on?
