As the subject says I just bought a new G13, worked fine for a few hours and now it's like it doesn't exists.
After a few hours of trying out it worked fine. If anything some of the key programming I tried were behaving odly. I just though I needed to invest more time learning about it. I put the PC on stand by, came back hours later and noticed the G13 remained idle with the G13 message on the screen. There was no way to make it work. I replugged the device as suggested and now I only got a blank screen. And it's been like that since then.
The Gaming Software just says "No devices detected". I've tried all my USB ports, reinstalling the software. Of course I've rebooted the PC a few times. It's just the same: the G13 powers up but nothing comes up on the screen and it's like it wasn't there for the Gaming Software. Needlees to say I can't play at all.
Quite a bit pissed off, spending my preciously little gaming hours trying to make my new hardware to what's supposed to.
I'm running Windows Vista 32-bit.
So, should I just return it to the store?
Thanks for your input.

There seems to be a bug with the software coming out of Sleep. There are two things you can do that I'm aware of:
1) you can turn the software off then restart it after you return to the computer after it wakes up from Sleep (or restart the comp).
2) you can use the legacy software instead. Version 3.06 works well and doesn't have the same issue.

Thanks for your advice. I've already restarted the PC a few times, reinstalled the software, etc. Just to be sure I did follow your suggestions but the result remains the same.
I just downloaded the software on my wife's laptop and tried the G13 but it's no use. Powers up with a blank screen and it goes undetected by the software. Not even a few hours of working fine like it did yesterday. I'm starting to believe that my G13 broke during the day somehow.

yup, sounds defective. take it back where you got it for an exchange, or if that's not practical contact customer support for a warranty replacement. taking it back where you got it is better -- you'll get a new one that way. I have heard that warranty replacements aren't always new, sometimes they're refurbs, but I don't know for certain if that's really true.

I do not work for Logitech. I'm just a user.

This morning, after about 7 hours of being unplugged, the G13 once again is operational. The G13 immediatly came up on the screen once I plugged it and the software immediatly recognized it.
Last night during the 3 hours of running test and solutions the most it remained unplugged was maybe 5 to 10 minutes. I did multiple repluggs but only waited about 10 secs in between them. Does anybody knows for certain how long one of these G13 needs to be unplugged to truly reset or "cooldown"? Does this seems natural at all? Would it be still worth it to make and exchange?
Thanks all for your insigth.

All right. Might be I figured out a work around the problem.
As I said, it worked fine this morning once I replugged the G13. I took it off to plug it on the back usb port and it failed to be recognized again.
I then put the PC to sleep without the G13 being plugged. Brought it back, then replugged the G13 and it worked again.
Last night I shutted down the PC, restarted it multiple times, reinstalled the software, etc and nothing worked, just these few steps.
What a mess. Is it always like this with these devices?

There has been issues with their devices that have hubs (G110 for example), but mostly it only effects x58 systems. It's as if the x58 systems don't supply enough power to opperate all your devices. I happen to have such a system, but I resolved it by splitting my devices between USB 2.0, 3.0 and Sata 3.0 plugs.

I hope not. I'm having the same problem, and so far the sleep trick hasn't worked for me. It's done this to me twice before, and both times it eventually worked later on in the day. I hope there's an actual fix for this! I'm running Windows 7 x64. I'm also using the latest drivers. I just bought another one of these for my girlfriend - I hope it doesn't act up with her, too.

Do you really have to put your PC to sleep? Sleep mode as given me so many problems since XP, I disable that option on all my PC, I just Hate it !
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options and chose Hight Performance
You're life in ending one minute at a time.
If I did helped you just click on Kudos... It's Free !
