Re: Official GamePanel Software for Mac [beta] Discussion thread

Hey guys,

I gathered from a post a few weeks ago that the LCD seems to be working for you guys on the G15 for WoW? (someone mentioned bag space?)

I have the latest version of the G13 software (3.0.1.361 i believe?) and it doesn't do anything at all.  I am running on a MBP.  the Screen does work - cpu monitor, clock etc - but it doesn't even care when WoW is launched.  It actives the profile it says, but then returns to its cycling default scripts.  Am i missing something here?!?  Bought this keyboard roughly 6 months ago now - I pull it out every month and see if it works yet lol - nothing thus far! haha.

Thanks,

THe 3.1 patch for WoW has not yet been pushed to live servers.  As soon as they're done testing it on the PTR, we'll know for certain that Mac support is present in WoW.  Until then, it's just a very good possibility.

It only works on the PTR currently, and the bagspace thing has been fixed

CharlesB - I restarted the computer in "safe boot" as you asked, and once booted, the G13 wasn't even recogized.  I went into the LCD Manager and it couldn't find the device.  I unplugged it and plugged it back in, no change.  Do you guys have a 2009 mac pro in house in order to test it?

Logitech seems to have failed to mention that the latest GamePanel Software contains the Mac LCD SDK and can now be downloaded.

Dude, awesome.

Um...now that the Mac package is a final product (?) can we roll the big 'G' dockicon up into the menubar so its not cluttering? Pretty please?

Theodric- I raised that very request myself. There's a lot of things we are exploring with the mac software at this point though. I'll be honest; that change isn't on the short track (there's a lot on everyone's plate right now), but we're aware and personally I'd like to see something done about it :smileyhappy:

CJacobs- Well, that was a one-off stab, because I think there might be an application-level conflict. I haven't had to safeboot my mac in a while, so I thought I'd take a first stab with that. We have a Mac Pro here, as well as some minis, iMacs, and MBPs. But I haven't seen that issue pop up on any of them. What applications do you have that start up on boot?

Re: Official GamePanel Software for Mac [beta] Discussion thread

CharlesB - Well... I had a Mac Pro (2008 Model) and everything worked perfectly.  I then built this Mac Pro (2009 Model) and had it build the drive off of my old machine.  So the programs that boot are the exact same.  It worked on my old machine, but not on this one.  That is what lead me to believe that there is something different on the 2009 model, that you guys might need to test in house.  The applications that I have start on boot are pretty minor and I've tried disabling or enabling them all at one time to try to fix this... with no avail.

Re: Official GamePanel Software for Mac [beta] Discussion thread

.....So you're booting from the same OS that was used to boot an earlier Mac Pro?

Even though Mac OS installs can be flexible when moved between systems, it can always cause problems, especially since there are architecture differences between the 08 and the new Mac Pros. Do you have multiple HDs? If you have an opportunity (and if my assessment of the above is correct), I'd install a fresh OS on one of the other disks for giggles and put the G15 software on that, boot there and observe it's behavior. It's something I haven't seen crop up on multiple macs across 10.4 and 10.5, and the shared OS might be the X-factor involved here.

Re: Official GamePanel Software for Mac [beta] Discussion thread

Both OSs are 10.5.6... but no, I used the copy from another mac option while building this drive... during the initial boot.  It kept the original install of this mac on it... but copied my applications and data over.  Once the copy was completed, I uninstalled the logitech software, then installed the new version.
