I just registered in this forum after browsing the internet for a few hours and was unable to come up with a solution to my problem. A couple of years ago I bought a G13 for my wife cause she was playing WoW back then but she was never able to get used to it so it stayed in a cupboard ever since so it's practically new. A couple of weeks ago I started playing Tera Online and due to the uniqueness of the game's control system and the myriad of skill button assignments needed, I decided to give the G13 a try myself. All is well and I'm really enjoying it but I have one major problem. I have assigned WASD to the thumbstick and all works well asides the fact that it seems to stuck when pressed upwards resulting in my character moving forwards on its own or typing WWWWW.... endlesly. There is no physical indication that the thumbstick stucks, it returns to its middle possition once released but the assigned key to the upward position repeats itself until pulled back.
I've tried it in other games too and with other buttons assigned to it and even opened notepad and just pushed it forward and it keeps "typing" whatever key is assigned to it. I'm using the latest software and I also tried to install the legacyh one but unfortunately I was unable to (double clicking does nothing just opens and closes a window). I'm using windows 7 x64 but I really believe there is a physical and not software cause to my problem although I hope I'm wrong. Any help will be appreciated even if it means I have to open the device and replace or clean something. It's no longer in waranty so that is not an issue. Risk of ruining it for good is not an issue either since it's practically useless for me as it is now.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

hi ..
if you assign a keypress to a g-key and test it in notepad, it will repeat typing the key just like you hold it down on the keyboard. This "repeating" in notepad is done by windows - but its only one "up-press".
actually what you describe for "W" should happen to "A,S,D" as well. does it not do this for "A,S,D" ???
you can test this by just dropping this script in your ScriptEditor: (it will display the G-Key Events)
OnEvent(event,arg,family)
OutputLCDMessage("event = "..event..", arg = "..arg.."\n",60000)
endif a key would be broken as you say, it would show multiple "G_PRESSED" events in a row.

Thanks for the heads up. I did input the script and I got something like this:
event = PROFILE_DEACTIVATED, arg = 0 event = PROFILE_ACTIVATED, arg = 0 event = G_PRESSED, arg = 26 event = G_RELEASED, arg = 26 event = G_PRESSED, arg = 26 event = G_RELEASED, arg = 26 event = G_PRESSED, arg = 26 event = G_RELEASED, arg = 26 event = G_PRESSED, arg = 26 event = G_RELEASED, arg = 26 event = G_PRESSED, arg = 26 event = G_RELEASED, arg = 26 event = G_PRESSED, arg = 26 event = G_RELEASED, arg = 26
It doesn' go on forever always. It seems like it goes on for a couple of times then stops most of the time. If counteracted with pressing any other direction, even if I just press it upwards again it stops. Then once pressed again the same. Sometimes it gives a single stroke but that's rare. Also the thumbstick doesn't feel like physically stucking. Always seems to return to it's neutral position once released. Weird stuff ....

I think it might be a hardware problem. I had one of my G13 doing that. One thing that worked for a while. Try pussing the buttons of the joystick and doing some rotation. then try pulling it a bit while rotating. If it goes better for a while and the problem come back. It's defective... Call Logitech service the will ask you for some numbers on it and they will tell you if they still cover it.
