Hi, I was just wondering if it is true that the Logitech G500 has small inherent acceleration, that can't be disabled through the Logitech software. I've been hearing this a lot online and wanted to hear it from a memeber of the Logitech team.
Thanks

Hello Slappybags,
The DPI settings can be adjusted by 3 settings of 400, 800, and 2000 out-of-box using the DPI buttons on the mouse. When changing the DPI settings using the software, it can be adjusted 100 increments from 200 to 5700 with 5 settings. The settings can not be disabled through the software.

SO, the G500 has a small (<5%) acceleration that can be visible at low sensitivity levels and during VERY, VERY fast movements over distance (Over 6 inches). This level of acceleration is actually present in many sensors, which is why some low-sens players prefer optical sensors. For me, I game at 400-800DPI and I don't run into any issues with my gaming.

I have the following problem with my G500.
DPI set to 400
When i move the G500 very fast over my whole mousepad, the pointer suddenly stops moving though i am still moving the G500
I've tried this with several mousepads. It was always the same behavior.
My old G5 does not have this problem.
Could it be that my G500 Laser is not working properly?
