Buyer Beware? G7 product defect, lag/stuttering/disconnects with wireless N cards

So I've had this G7 for a few years and it was the best mouse I've had however after receiving my new laptop with a wireless N card, any sort of high bandwidth utilization of the computer results in the mouse lagging/dropping connection.  Changing router channels, reconnecting, using latest setpoint, moving the receiver away etc etc etc, ran through the gamut with CS twice and no solution.  So I started browsing these forums to see if i could figure out the problem and low and behold there are multiple posts even from 3 years ago about this exact problem and the common thread between them is that they all had wireless N cards.  The mouse works perfectly with the adapter turned off and when I'm not using the internet when it's turned on but once you start a download or load a certain webpage, BAM lag and stuttering.  People have even replaced their mouse thinking they had a lemon but the replacements had the same problem.  Maybe this isn't the source of all stuttering/lag complaints but it sure seems to be a common thread for people with the particular "internet traffic lag" complaints.

Is there anyone out there with a G7 and a wireless N card that doesn't have lag? if so, what model card do you have?

Re: Buyer Beware? G7 product defect, lag/stuttering/disconnects with wireless N cards

Hi there!I have the exact same problem since I bought a Linksys WMP600N Wireless N network card. I am running Windows 7 64 bit RC1 with Logitech G7 Cordless Laser Mouse. Installing/uninstalling SetPoint software does NOT solve the problem :smileysad: I haven't tested it on other operating systems though. But this rarely happened before.

I had this issue with my b/g router as well (although I know n is on a different frequency).  To stop the lag I had to disable any "Turbo" (speed boost?), turn off extended range and turn ON auto channel scan.  You may have already done this with CS, and I don't know your router's settings, but maybe it'll help.
