This is for someone at Logitech...
I work on LCDHost plugins and have produced a number of extensions for SirReal's excellent G19 software, including a suite of monitoring tools.
I've been interested in expanding this to includebattery monitoring for various Logitech wireless mice... and I've worked out a way to do this despite the fact there is no formal API. I can modify the Windows gadget that has already been created and is (c) Logitech 2008 to publish the necessary info. It's actually really trivial, since Windows gadgets are just archives containing html data. I can modify the current gadget to use a one pixel image so you don't even see it on your desktop, alter the javascript so it makes the battery level available to 3rd party applications and change the Gadget XML so it uses a different name and doesn't overwrite or in any other way affect the official monitoring gadget.
Hey presto I can get a wireless Logitch mouse's battery level to be displayed on a Logitech G19!
This would of course massively benefit Logitech customers like me. However, I would need to redistribute my new adget which includes Logitech code (the windows gadget contains a logitech dll and exe that I suspect are custom built for the purpose of the gadget). Because of that I'm not sure I can make this useful feature available.
Can someone from Logitech advise me? Again, this feature is purely to benefit Logitech customers and I'm not going to make any sort of profit from it...
An alternative would involve creating a stand alone exe that unzips the gadget file, patches the content and re-zips the modified content, but that's quite a bit of hassle so I'd rather just get permission to distribute my new gadget directly.
Cheers,
Triscopic

Would you have this that works for a mx5500 Combo? I would really love a meter I can put on the desktop so I can see at a glance what I have left on my mouse and Keyboard at a glance. Please let me know, and if you need some files to make it let me know what files and where to get them and I'll send them to you if you are interested in making one.
Thanks,

P.S. I like the pic you have, Looks nice.
