G300 and Windows XP x64 ?

Hello all !

I bought a G300 mouse 3 days ago. I plugged it into my Shuttle XPC with Windows XP x64 in it. It recognized that a new device had been plugged, but it refused to install the drivers (when I clicked on "install the new drivers automatically"), and refused to recognize my mouse so I could use it. I tried to install several version of Logitech SetPoint and Logitech Gaming Software, but "nada" ! Do you have an idea ? Is it possible that Logitech didn't develop the drivers for XP x64 ? If this is so, why would they make a compatible program, and no compatible drivers ?

Faithfully yours,

Arcegis.

Re: G300 and Windows XP x64 ?

Hello Arcegis,

The G300 is supported in Logitech Gaming Software (Current) . I have provided a link to the Windows XP X64 version.

http://www.logitech.com/en-us/428/8551?section=downloads&bit=&osid=1

I suggest installing in clean boot mode.

Re: G300 and Windows XP x64 ?

I'm sorry, but the computer didn't even recognize the mouse without LGS being installed. It keeps telling me that "thedrivers couldn't be found. VErify that they'ere developped for x64 processors", or something like that. The mouse is lit under, but not the LEDs, and it doesn't move, even after installing LGS in Clean Boot Mode.

Re: G300 and Windows XP x64 ?

Hello Arcegis,

What is the exact name of your operating system and service packs?

To determine which service pack is currently installed on your computer, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. Copy and paste, or type the following command and then click OK:
    winver
A dialog box displays the version of Windows and the service pack that is currently installed on your computer.
