G400 Mouse - Reprogramming left hand forward and back keys doesn't work properly

With my previous mice I always reprogrammed the left hand keys from Forward/Back to Home/End using the keystroke option.

With this mouse and 8.20.74 software and driver 8.20.42.0on Windows 7 64 bit it doesn't work properly.

When using Firefox and Internet Explorer using the buttons frequently defaults to Forward/Back in the browser not Home/End

I removed all references to Forward/Back in the software and the default profile is the only one active but it still doesn't work properly.

Note with my MX518 mouse and the Setpoint Software I had no such problems.

I also uninstalled the Setpoint Software to see if that would help

[ Edited ]

Further checking and the problem appears to be related to sleep mode (a bit like the default DPI problem)

The buttons work as they should when first set but if I put the computer into sleep mode and on waking they revert to back/forward which is exactly how they work if the software is closed.

Restarting the software fixes the problem so it appears that the problem is related to being woken from sleep and it failing to initilise properly so using some sort of Windows default

Re: G400 Mouse - Reprogramming left hand forward and back keys doesn't work properly

I also lose the left button back key memory assignment after a sleep.

Strangely, the forward button keeps its configuration. Only the back key memory fails.

I have Windows 8 RTM 64 bit in an i7 Dell notebook.. And a G400 mouse.

Software Version: 8.30.86
