Just hooked up my brand new G400 and installed the latest software, today.
While playing Tribes Ascend, if I use my middle mouse button to throw a grenade, it will switch my DPI to the lowest setting.
I made 100% sure that I wasn't clicking any other buttons.
Only seems to happen when I click the middle mouse button, which is not assigned to change the DPI.
This is a gigantic problem for me, because my middle mouse button has to be the button I use for throwing grenades. It has been for years.
This only seems to happen in-game, and not on the desktop or while browsing.
Is there any fix for this?
Is it possible to use 3600 dpi and 1000 hz polling rates without the software?
This is a really huge disappointment.

Well, I figured it out.
You have to unbind the lower/minus DPI button.
This really **bleep**, because I really want to change my DPI on the fly, and now I can't.
Which means I have to switch the dpi back and forth every time I switch from my desktop and my game, manually.
I don't know if this is a defect in the mouse itself or a problem with the software. It seems like the middle mouse button and the minus DPI button might be touching on the inside of the mouse, causing this problem.
I know for a fact I'm not hitting that button. So maybe the middle mouse button and the minus DPI button connect or touch inside the mouse? And maybe when I hit the middle button it also pressed the minus DPI button? I'm guessing it's either that or junky software.
This **bleep**. ![]()
Edit: Warning to potential buyers. The lift-off distance on this mouse is extremely high.
