[G5] Can't configure generic button

I want to give one of my thumb buttons an application-specific behavior, but since I have it set as a generic button, I can't. Is there a way to fix this?

I use my thumb buttons for back/forward in browsers/Explorer, and there is a different response when I configure them specifically to be back/forward. When configured as generic buttons, the back/forward action only occurs after releasing the button, whereas when configured specifically as back/forward buttons, that action occurs as soon as I depress the key. Subtle, but not something I want.

using setpoint 6.32 on Win 7 64 bit.

Re: [G5] Can't configure generic button

so, uh, bump. Anyone got an answer to this? I know how to configure application-specific actions, but I want to configure application-specific actions for a generic button.
