Hi, I have the G5 Gaming mouse, I am trying to set up games to recognize my 5th and 6th buttons (usually to increase/decrease sensitivity) as mouse button 5 and mouse button 6, however the only way possible is to assign the buttons to keystrokes, which is not what I want, I need it to be Mouse button 4 and 5 for my games.
I would also love to set up the middle mouse buttons left and right clicks to buttons 7 and 8 if possible as well.
How do I do this ?

As far as I am aware, there is an inherent limitation to Windows that does not allow mapping more than four mouse buttons natively.
To use the other buttons, you have to map to keystrokes.
If you're not using Windows, then I'm afraid I can't help you.

Ok bud thanks, I am using Windows Vista 64.
Do you know if there is any way around this problem ?
Such as a programme that configures windows to recognise the buttons ?

The limitation, as I understand it, is in the DirectInput API. So no, such a program can't exist.
You can still map those buttons to a keyboard key or key combination (such as ALT-SHIFT-1) if you want to use them.
