G500 Disconnecting/REconnecting

Hi, I have a G500 and I did RMA it about 1 year's ago for the same issue and now the issue is back on my new mouse they sent me after the same amount of time I had the other one for about 1 year's anad the problem started and now after 1 year's or so with the new one it come back...

This is really a poplar issue with the G500 since it seem's to happen to everyone I knew that had a g500 too...

But the problem is that I not sure if I can RMA a product I received from another RMA and I don't wan't to wait around 3 week to be able to use my mouse again...

Re: G500 Disconnecting/REconnecting

Hi frankown,

The warranty extends 3 years from the original purchase, so as long as your first purchase was within that timeframe (give or take) you should still be able to get a replacement, if you contact customer care they will be able to look that up for you.

As well it sounds like a bad cable, is your cable hanging off the end of your desk? The weight from gravity may be putting strain on it over a long period of time, you may want to try taping the cable at the edge of your desk with a little slack or something like that.

Re: G500 Disconnecting/REconnecting

No the Cable stay on my destop since right next to my mouse pad its my computer case. This way I have no cable hanging of my desktop .

But I put some electic tape on the cable with a little wood stick to make sure the able does not flex and since this it never disconnected again but I am not sure of getting it RMA last time I had 3 long week with no mouse so I am probably going to jsut buy another mouse once its stop working again...

Re: G500 Disconnecting/REconnecting

Hi!

I had rhis exact problem and I was quite sure that it was not a cable problem, since I could shake and pull in the cable, without in any way be able to control the disconnects.

But now it is working fine, I unistalled setpoint and then istalled it again from the CD you got it the package. This is an older version but it works just fine now :smileyvery-happy:

This is interesting as it might be the latest driver clashing with a current windows update. I will try rolling back to an older driver and see if your solution works.

Re: G500 Disconnecting/REconnecting

Hello JelleK,

As I understand it, you want to download and install SetPoint for your G500, but you don't have the CD anymore.Don't worry, I'll be glad to provide you with it.

Please click on the download that goes with your OS type: SetPoint 6.32 32bit OS or SetPoint 6.32 64bit OS.

Hope this helps you to keep enjoying your G500, in case it doesn't please let me know so I can provide you further assistance.

Best regards,
