Re: G500 / Profile Detection / Not Switching

Your best bet is to create your WOW profile.

Go to Profile Manager and select the option that disables automatic switching and then Select your WOW profile and then scroll down and hit burn.

This will save it to your mouse's on board memory

Hit Apply and then Okay.

The Auto Feature doesn't work very well, if at all, especially with games like WOW and other games with launchers.

You just change it back to General Profile by following the same steps above, except choose General Profile and then Burn, apply and okay.

Hope this helps.

Re: G500 / Profile Detection / Not Switching

I cannot for the life of me figure out what I did but I got the auto-profile switching to work with WoW which made me extreamly happy considering some of the other comments on this and other threads. But when i shut off my computer for the night yesterday and turned it back on today the auto switching mysteriously stopped working. This is very frustrating because this usefull feature seems to decide to work or not work on its own accord. Logitech needs to get on this problem fast these user end 'fixes' should not be necessary, the software should work like they say it does without the admin mode finagling. Please Logitech fix this!

I did what d3xi2 did and it still doesn't work. Get off your **bleep** Logitech and fix your busted **bleep** software!

Re: G500 / Profile Detection / Not Switching

[ Edited ]

Mine started working after I've tried these and I don't know which one did the trick. 1st one seems like a temp solution so I didn't restart after that but restarted after all steps. If someone tries one by one and posts which one is the key... would better.

I'm admin and there isn't any other users so i don't know if this works for other users.

1. Close setpoint fully(exit) and run it again from start menu as admin

2. Export all profiles in setpoint(I've exported to the default folder)

3. Open msconfig uncheck setpoint from startup tab, apply, then recheck, apply

Then I've restarted and it works. My guess is that 2nd step is the key.

Re: G500 / Profile Detection / Not Switching

i know this is a bit old already but i just recently got the mouse this tuesday, Auto Program Detection was working for the past two days then boom today it didnt work anymore. I tried the "Run As Admin" fix and thats the one that did the charm. My auto detection is working just like before and im not having the issue anymore, ive done a few restarts of the computer to make sure it doesnt just stop working out of no where but thats not the case.

Re: G500 / Profile Detection / Not Switching

Having the same problem. The run as admin thing is not helping either.

As an aside:

The fact we have to do all this is stupid. This software should enable the moust to switch profiles through application detection, as advertised on the box. Are we all expected to go and bug support with emails or can someone from logitech come in and give us all a hand?

Re: G500 / Profile Detection / Not Switching

Just to add to this:

The newest set of drivers is the one causing the problem.

I just uninstalled it, restarted, and installed the drivers that came with the disc in the box. It is now working. I will report back if it stops working again.

Please fix the new drivers though.

Re: G500 / Profile Detection / Not Switching

i have tried all of these offerings and it still would not detect a differenct profile/software package ... until ... i simply pulled the USB plug for ~2 seconds and then plugged it back in. works fine now. sometimes i have to repeat this procedure every few days but it helped me.

Re: G500 / Profile Detection / Not Switching

Setting the SetPoint app to run as Administrator possibly solved it for me on Windows 7 64-bit. By possibly, I mean it could have been solved just by exiting and relaunching SetPoint since I had to do this to run it under admin privs.

Before SetPoint would sometimes load profiles properly with app detection and sometimes not at all, no matter what I did.

Really frustrating. I hope mine is fixed for good now. Logitech should really get their act together to support their software for customers who spend the big bucks on their higher-end gaming peripherals like the G9x and G19 (I've owned the G15 and tons of other Logitech mice before too).

public void rant()

{

It's a shame that Logitech's software is a pile of steaming you-know-what these days. SetPoint is bloated and full of bugs. The irony is that SetPoint has a great UI but works unreliably, while the GamePanel software for Gxx keyboards has a horrible UI but works reliably. Grr, Logitech. This is really simple stuff here to program; it's not rocket sceince. And if your software people are incompetent, Logitech, then at least make your software open-source so the rest of us can get off our arses and fix your code for you. Go ahead, I dare ya. Make it open source. I'd have your bloated SetPoint fixed in a day and trimmed down do a lean footprint in a month.  :manmad:

Re: G500 / Profile Detection / Not Switching

I am having this problem as well, the profile switching worked with WoW at first with no problems, until my computer was turned off. After that I have been unable to get the profile switching to work properly...I can sometimes get it to switch to the WoW profile, but then it stays there when I go back to my browser, which is not a good thing. This is getting very frustrating.
