G500 Rollover and Click problems

I purchased a g500 mouse a few months ago, and just recently I've been having problems with it. Whenever I connect it to my computer I can't click on anything besides the taskbar, and if I mouse over a button on a window it does not register that my pointer is over it (nor can I click on the button, again unless it is the taskbar). This continues until I restart the computer or log off and back on.

My laptop works fine with my trackpad and works fine with my VX Nano, but for some reason it freaks out when I connect my g500. I have tried reinstalling the drivers and setpoint with no sucess as well as disabling all antivirus, etc. Does anyone know whats going on?

Re: G500 Rollover and Click problems

After messing with it some more I have some more information. If I plug the mouse in after I have started the computer, while I have a window active, I can still interact with that window, press buttons, etc, however I then can't interact with the start menu as it doesnt register that I'm clicking on it (I can however navigate it using the keyboard), and once i click out of the window I can't interact with it anymore.

Also if I start a program windows will automatically bring it to focus (or whatever that would be called) but if I try to click on it the computer reacts as if I am clicking on the desktop or something and unfocuses the window (as in its not active and not highlighted), this also happens if i try to alt tab to a window and then interact with it.

Frankly I doubt anyone knows the specific solution to this problem but any general advice beyond what I've tried (reinstalling setpoint, drivers) would be helpful.

Re: G500 Rollover and Click problems

Hi,

reinstalling SetPoint was a good start :smileyhappy: but this looks like a driver issue to me. Get yourself a good registry cleaner and run it while SetPoint is uninstalled. Also I would remove the drivers that are used now (backup first), I'm sure SetPoint will have them onboard.
