G500 clicking issue

[ Edited ]

First off, I love this mouse and it was a great replacement to my G5 when it bit the dust but now I have problems after a good two year stretch.

The problem:

My mouse will now, all of a sudden, double click when I only single click say when clicking a drop-down menu. Very irritating clearly but I've yet to see anything useful on these forums for this issue as of yet. No drastic changes in my computers settings in the past month or so when this problem started to occur. Any insight anyone?

Re: G500 clicking issue

I'm having the same issue with my 5 month old G500, which I bought to replace my 2006 G5 which suffered the same double clicking problem after six years of use.

I've heard people say Logitech has great customer service and will replace broken hardware no problem.  I'll be trying that, and I suggest you do the same.

Re: G500 clicking issue

Mine did that a couple months ago. All I did was give it a good clean (without opening up). Microfiber cloth to wipe off any dirt build up on the bottom. I also have cats, so I check the lense area to make sure there are no hairs in there, and take my dental pick to see if there is any hair build up around the wheel, and the gaps in the plastic where the buttons are.  That solved it for a while. I just had to do it again today

Re: G500 clicking issue

You shouldn't it's the issue with G500, had 3 of them and i am answering posts here like crazy about this issue because i am very unsatisified with the way support handles the issue. If i owned a company and 100-200-300 or many more people complained to me about the same issue, i would go into checking what makes the mouse do that. What do we need to replace to fix this issue.

Not just "get a new one, goto the next ablblba and it's warrantied" sure enough i have mine warrantied so i can get it replaced locally but it doesn't change the fact that there is a flaw in the design.

Ill be sure to avoid Logitech Airlines if they ever attempt to create planes, not sure ill be happy enough with the wheels under the plane to fall off or some mechanics not working and they will only switch out the mechanics..
