G7 Battery Replacement

One of my batteries that I received with my mouse had a large bulge in it, making it unusable. According to the Tech rep on the phone this is a known manufacture defect and he proceeded to put me in for a new battery, he put me on hold saying he was having problems with the support system and then got off of hold with me saying that they could no longer replace the batteries and acted very surprised about it. He then directed me to the logitech site where I could "purchase" the batteries, very displeased as they would not cover the manufactured defect, I thanked him and hung up only to find that the batteries are out of stock and will be for a very long time... This has caused me an extreme inconvenience as I have to have my corded mouse plugged in while the other battery pack charges. I have multiple Logitech products, including the keyboard I am typing on (G-15) and have never ran into a problem until now. I am very displeased at the way they handled this situation especially from it being a manufacture defect and coming up with the excuse that the battery pack portion it is not under the actual warranty even though I purchased the mouse a week ago... Thank you Logitech, I will remember this for a very long time and it will definitely be a deciding factor in my buying my future peripheral devices...

Re: G7 Battery Replacement

I'm doing some research into this case, but you are still under warranty and you should not have to buy anything. Can you PM me the name of the technician and the case number from your call?

So I called Logitech back to request the Case number, They didn't have it on file so they asked me what had happened. The support specialist talked to his supervisor to see if they could get me a replacement which instead of shipping out the replacement batteries I will have to send in my mouse and they will send me a new G7 plus the accessories. I guess it just depends on who you talk to.

Re: G7 Battery Replacement

I do apologize, as we do have some new agents for gaming, and sometimes they get a little nervous and overthink the situation :smileywink:. Glad to hear you got a proper resolution, and I will attempt to follow up to prevent this from happening again :smileyhappy:

hi, i've got a big problem...

last month i bought on ebay a g7 mouse from the U.S.. one of the batteries it came with had the bulge problem. since i find difficult to go on with only one battery (it doesn't last long and i often need my mouse for many hours in a row) i always need two mice :smileysad:

is there any way to get a working battery since i live in italy?

Re: G7 Battery Replacement

That's difficult because you bought the item off ebay. I'd contact your local support center and ask them their policy on this.

Re: G7 Battery Replacement

So, here we are 2 1/2 years later and still no G7 batteries. In fact you can't find any mention of it on the Logitech web site. I have a G7 that is two years old. It still works but I am concerned that I am reaching the limit of "recharges" on the batteries.

It appears, from what I read on this forum, I wont be finding replacements for the G7 battery and will have to buy a new mouse. I guarantee it wont be a Logitech.
