Re: G700 Click & Hold problem

[ Edited ]

I have the same problem as the rest of you lot.

I have owned alot of Logitech products over the years, and before the G700 I used to have the MX Revolution (What I thought was a top stinking mouse)

I tossed the MX aside hoping for an improvement to the design ("AND" the fact that the right mouse button was F'd moved me to think that it was my fault for dropping it too many times. I'll be honest, it was on the hard floor more than once.)

Now, I have this superb piece of hardware to aid me with my gaming endevour's, for which I like to move around with the right mouse button.. right?

So for around 6 months I blamed Blizzard for thier bug's while they blamed the Add-ons I had installed,

Then my thumb pad was scrutinised.. and so finally, it turns out that this PoS mouse is the problem and I'm PO'ff with the fact that I paid good money for it not (6 months ago...) online.. wasted my time getting the macro's set up and yea.. not happy Jan.

Someone later in this post says to switch to power saver mode.. I'll try that, cause I'll be dam'd if I'll send it in for a 3 week replacement wait time.

Re: G700 Click & Hold problem

Update: 28/07/12

Nup. none of the quick fixes worked.. but you know what did work? a M$ mouse.

  • Hover over links in FF13 and "none of the menu's blink repetitivly"
  • Open up the game and "No false releasing of the button's happen's"
  • Free's up "20MB OF ONBOARD MEMORY!!"

you get the picture.

So tell me, which M$ mouse did you bought, because my Logitech G700 is just with the click&holding issue (sometimes named as double-click) and it is annoying me as hell.

It do greatly decrease my game performance. Also, i think i will quit for good for buying logitech products.

Re: G700 Click & Hold problem

After a few months of everything working great, my G700 suddenly started randomly double-clicking and dropping on click & hold.  A few quick searches online and reading this thread, and I discover this is a known (but unacknowledged by Logitech) issue with this mouse.  I do not believe having to dump the capacitors periodically to keep the mouse working properly is a valid solution, particularly when there is no evidence that Logitech is even attempting to address the issue.  I am also not interested in a replacement mouse that is likely to develop the same problems.

Overall, I have been pleased with Logitech's products, as I also have a G510 keyboard, G930 headset and a couple of Harmony products.  However, after having to purchase a USB hub to get acceptable performance out of the headset and now this, not to mention the horrible customer service I have seen on these forums, it has become apparent that something at Logitech has changed.

I will be replacing my G700 with a Razer Naga Epic.  In the future, I will not be purchasing any of Logitech's G-series products until there is some evidence they have taken steps to improve their product line and/or customer service.

Here's hoping I can return to being a loyal Logitech customer sometime in the future.  Until then.

Re: G700 Click & Hold problem

Holy F , everyone have the same problem , it just happened to me yesterday ! So what now , there's no fix to it ? Cant be avoided ? I just wasted RM 259 on thie mouse then ?? (70 USD which its freaking lot here)

Zzzz even asked for a warranty replacement i think it wont fix it since this model have this failed problem.

I too really love Logitech but it seem it has betrayed me , so i guess the most scary thoughts is now Logitech is just being as bad as Razer i guess ? ?

Re: G700 Click & Hold problem

Replacing the rechargable battery solved the problem for me.

Re: G700 Click & Hold problem

... or it only seems so. :robotwink:  Because this problem tends to come and go.

I wrote in this topic several months ago complaining about this problem but now it's mysterically gone. It returned on one occasion though but only for a short time. So I doubt it's battery related.

I've had the same problem.

When I was on desktop, and holding left button to move some windows or files, mouse pionter keept moving, but windows or files stopped.

After few days with this problem, it suddenly disappeared, and everything worked fine.

When I had this problem, I moved my finger all over left button, and sometimes it happend more often, and sometimes it didn't happen at all. So, I guess it is hardware problem.
