Geeez, at the time of writing this, my buttons work again. I didn't even bang the mouse, like you suggested. I just woke up, try again, and they work. Now please, someone explain.... I didn't install anything, change anything, I didn't even shut down the computer over night. Maybe it just needs 18 hours to warm up or something, LOL. Hardware problem my asssss. Can we please get an official explanation for this, I bet you have it Logitech.

Well, I have similiar problems, mocro editor coming up randomly and broken G11.
I could resolve the problem once by removing the battery for a complete day, shorter removal had no effect.
But after 3 weeks, the problem returned.
Still in contact with support

Hey Paulina,
I have a similar button issue. I got my G700 gaming mouse yesterday and everything works properly except for the G5 button - It has never worked. I cannot bind G5 to anything. In SetPoint I can bind any command to G5, but when I try it out, it doesn't work. All the other buttons work.
I tried the things you wrote above. I uninstalled the mouse drivers, uninstalled Setpoint, removed cable and reciever, rebooted my system. Then I plugged in my mouse and the drivers for it installed by itself. I reinstalled SetPoint using "setpoint632_x64.exe". The G5 button still doesn't work.
When i check SetPoint after reinstalling using "setpoint632_x64.exe" it says that the SetPoint-version is 5.46.10.
Driversversion is 5.33.14
Please help me out on this. This is a really frustrating problem.
Best Regards
Anton Lydell

I'm having a similar issue with my g700, but instead of the g5 and g6 buttons not working at all, they spazz out and constantly perform the action they are assigned to do. Like if I was to assign the g5 button to be a letter key before I assign the g6, it will overthrow the g6 and keep pressing the letter key, even if I wasn't touching the mouse. Same goes if I were to assign a letter key to g6 before assigning anything to the g5.
It's insane that logitech doesn't have a responce to this problem after all this time. And now since the mous no longer used setpoint, but logitech gaming software, I'm stumped for a fix since all of these forums are old and are going by setpoint..
Hopefully someone sees this and responds, since logitech support is taking so long to get back to me

I have G5 set to ctrl+w, and G6 to Windows Key. After a couple of minutes, rocking the wheel (back/forward in browser) begins performing the G5 action on back, and G6 on forward. This is really annoying, as it is resulting in tabs being closed.
Opening LGS and switching to another profile, then back, fixes it temporarily. Reconnecting the USB connection also works. This is.. ridiculous. It's happening with my G600 too, simultaneously. I'd bought the G700 because I thought the G600 was broken when this first started, since formatting my HD didn't help.

I can confirm that this worked for me as well; there was no need for me to change battery type... simply opening the case and re-seating the connector restored the functionality of the G4 and G5 buttons.
Thanks a bunch!
