G-series Gaming Mice

My G700 has worked without a hitch for about a year until last week. The mouse now pauses 1-2  seconds (sometimes longer) after I ever so slightly pick it up and set it back down on the mousepad. This happens with the Wireless and Wired. Different surface types yield the same result. As does PC or Mac. 

Hardware issue? Laser? Any suggestions?

If it is happening on different PC's, wired and wireless I would suggest contact support within your region for a replacement.
