G700 Problem with Polling Rate

Hi.

Since yesterday i have a really big problem with my G700 (just one month old). Whenever I want to turn around or look around in a game I recieve lags or really short freezes, as if my PC has to reload the environment. But when i'm in windows or even press escape in a game and go to the options the mouse behaves absolutely normal. When I drop the polling rate to 500 rather than 1000 the problem stops. But 500 is kind of yesterday :-)

I hope anybody can help me, 'cause I really like this mouse otherwise.

Re: G700 Problem with Polling Rate

Hi benjitrey,

1000hz polling rate can be very taxing on a system, have there been any other changes made to your computer? Is this a new game, or did the mouse used to work fine at 1000hz in the same game?

Re: G700 Problem with Polling Rate

[ Edited ]

I hadn`t made any changes to my PC.

I discovered the problem in Battlefield 3, L.A. Noire, Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, Blacklight Retribution (Open Beta). But the thing is I played this games for about 80h with the G700, without this Problem and it worked fine with 1000Hz.

I reinstalled the driver Software, it didn't change anything. And I tested every USB-Port at my PC, even a powered USB-Hub. No difference.

The Problem now occurs even with 500Hz but only in Battlefield 3.

I borrowed an old Razer Diamonback from a friend. Startet all the games, used the same USB-Port as with the G700. and had no Problems at all.

So I believe that my G700 is damaged in some way.

Re: G700 Problem with Polling Rate

Okay. There is light ahead.

I tried one more thing, I uninstalled the SetPoint Software, restartet my PC, and tried it. And it worked. my Profiles on the mouse worked to, no lags freezes or whatsoever. So I think there is a conflict with the driver Software.

Anyone an idea?

I'm trying to figure out what happend when my problems started in the beginning. I believe I updated my graphic card drivers (Nvidia 296.10) and it was around the same day when Microsoft had a Patch Day (with it came an update of my antivirus software, microsoft security essentials).

I'm just happy now, that my G700 seems to be okay and it is only an Software issue.

Re: G700 Problem with Polling Rate

Hi benjitrey,

I would suggest reinstalling Setpoint in a clean boot of Windows, that will eliminate any chance of something else on the computer conflicting with Setpoint. If it only works in a clean boot but not in a normal boot, then it's likely a service or program in msconfig is causing a conflict.

If you still experience the issue in a clean boot, please contact customer care in your region for further support.

Re: G700 Problem with Setpoint

At first I Got It to work.  There was a conflict with my Keyboard drivers (MS Intellipoint for Sidewinder X4). uninstalled them and reinstalled the Setpoint Software and everything works fine.

@ SamTorjman

The Mouse needs to be plugged in while you install the drivers. I found out that it is best to plug the mouse in, and the reboot after it got recognized and then install the drivers.

Have you tested all USB-Ports?

Re: G700 Problem with Setpoint

I believe the problem started with the latest Update of BioWares Origin.  Logitech and Bioware need to work this out FAST!

I have a dedicated Mass effect gaming PC.  (that's ALL IT"S USED FOR!)  Mass effect 1, 2, 3.  About 3 days ago Biowares Origin Updated and it was right then, my ME3 would no longer launch.  After killing the process KHALMNPR.exe it then started up.  However my profiles no longer worked..  Mass effect 1 and 2 however work fine as they always have.

This mouse has worked fine for Mass Effect 3 since 3-6-12 the release day of ME3 till a few days ago.  No other machine changes were done besides the Origin update.
