G9 Drivers Lacking (Button Mapping Seems Neutered)

For the past several years I have been a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 user. I just recently picked up the G9 on sale to give Logitech a try.

My main issue with the G9 is how keys are remapped. It seems as if I am able to remap every key for the exception of mouse1 (Left Click).

I know that the click button is disabled for remapping because you fear that casual users will remap the key and forget to set one of their other keys to click, paralyzing them within windows without the click functionality.

With the G9 marketed to gamers, I would think that any key could be remapped. I have a weird setup where mouse1 is forward and mouse2 is fire. In games that don’t let you rebind mouse1, I need to use the Microsoft drivers to rebind my keys. True the newer version of the Microsoft drivers don’t let you rebind mouse1, but an old version that I have lets you rebind it without issue.

My suggestion, PLEASE allow mouse1 to be rebound to any action and allow any other key to be rebound as the click function.

Give a warning to the user explaining the harm in remapping the key and don't save their profile until they have mapped one button as the click function.

Thanks, and I look forward to seeing this request answered in an upcoming version of your drivers!
