Hi there,
I'm wondering if i can use Isopropyl Alcohol to wipe off gunk from the G500. The top part should be safe because it's a hard plastic surface, but what about the sides? Will the alcohol have any negative effects on the rubber side grips? thanks!

Hi hansen6,
We don't recommend that you use Isopropyl Alcohol to clean the mouse. Any liquids could possible damage internal components of the G500.
You could try using a satin cloth and toothpick, or a dry unused toothbrush. That has been recommended in the past.
If you really want to use the Isopropyl Alcohol, I have read in other forums that users have used it and had no problems with the grip. However you will have to do so at your own risk, this would void the warranty if the mouse became unusable defective afterwards.

<warrenty technicalities aside> it is kind of tricky, but totally doable to take apart the mouse to clean in the cracks of the side buttons. I have done it myself
just be careful while taking off the feet so that you can re-apply them when you are done.

Thanks for the reply guys! I will be careful not to get it inside the mouse, just want to give the outside a quick wipe down, and now that i know the alcohol won't destroy the grip my mind's at ease. I've tried isopropyl alcohol on my other mouse with a soft touch rubber coating and it ate through that slowly.
