Re: LGS 8.20 is now available for your G300 and G400 mice

[ Edited ]

After testing the Skyrim profile is not working for the G400.

I set the 'back' button for the enabled shout, it doesn't work.

I would also like G700 be supported by LGS. I hate the software right now that I'm using for G700. Thanks.

@Chris_P You can't be serious. G700 will "NEVER" be supported by LGS? So basically the "best gaming" mouse you guys offer will have to be used with an older, inefficient version of an extra, piece-of-crap software? Not only will we have to use the secondary software while running this mouse but we have no hope of ever getting native support for G700 in LGS? Can someone tell me why this is the case? Is this an inferior product in Logitech's Mice-Line up? Or was it written somewhere in the fine print on the box that this would be the case because honestly, if I had known, I wouldn't have purchased this mouse. This product is $99.99 (same as R.A.T 7), while other gaming mice are below this price. I purchased this product because I own other Logitech products which all work with LGS (e.g. G110, G930) and I was under the impression that I would be able to enjoy the convenience and quality I had come to expect from Logitech. Instead, I am greeted with the ugly 5.46 version of [word filter evasion] Set Point! I wasted my time firstly trying to figure out why my set point wasn't upgrading to the latest version and after I found out what the whole situation was I wasted my time some more trying to find a way to get G700 to work with LGS. That is what lead me here, and now instead of being told to patiently wait while the geniuses at Logitech are working on a solution, i'm being told that I will be punished with Set Point 5.46 because G700 will never be supported w/ LGS?? Great! I purchased this mouse yesterday and I honestly think the best thing for me to do is return it and give my money to a company who, if not offer immediate support for the short-comings of their product, can at least tell me why I am being subjected to an software that is inferior to its counterparts in functionality, efficiency, and appearance.

Re: LGS 8.20 is now available for your G300 and G400 mice

Chris_P: "It is not likely that mice that are supported by SetPoint will ever be migrated to LGS." I find this tepid response from a member of the Logitech team to be a tad disconcerting. The G700 is supposed to be the premiere gaming mouse sold by Logitech. I chose to purchase it because of my longstanding relationship with Logitech products (I currently own the G930 Wireless Headset and the G15 Gaming Keyboard) - my previous mice were the G5 Gaming Mouse and the iFeel Force Feedback Mouse. I've always loved the quality of Logitech products - I only 'replaced' my iFeel and G5 mice because I finally wore out their little feet. Both mice still work, and if I hadn't desired an excuse to upgrade, I would still be using them. I like my G700. It is a fantastic gaming mouse, and I use it for a variety of games ranging from RTS to MMO to FPS, and it shines in all of them. But being forced to load the rather outdated Setpoint software to take advantage of the most advanced features feels like a kludge at best, especially when both my G15 and G930 are supported fully by the Logitech Gaming Software. Setpoint looks and feels like what it is - unsupported, unupdated software from two generations back. Being forced to use it with the top-of-the-line, premiere-quality gaming mouse is unbecoming of one of the leaders in gaming peripherals. Logitech's competitors support their top-of-the-line products with their unified integration software. Why should the customers who have supported Logitech be forced to make do with inferior software? I understand that adding hardware support for the G700 to LGS is likely not an insignificant undertaking, but don't you think that those of us who have paid a premium to have the best that Logitech has to offer deserve better than to be told that such support is unlikely to be forthcoming? Edit: I can't seem to get the forum to recognize line-breaks, regardless of what I do. My apologies for the wall of text. It didn't start out like this.

Excellent! Calm, cool and collected. Nicely composed Gendou, you said all that I wanted to, and even more! btw Sorry guys for my long paragraph as well, I had also originally entered line breaks which did not show up. I hope others who have concerns can point them out. We need at least a response from Logitech about this, you can't keep ignoring us.

Re: LGS 8.20 is now available for your G300 and G400 mice

Just sent a mail to the support section, I think if a lot of people do this some of the 'important' Logitech people are bound to hear this.

Greetings,

Melvin.

Re: LGS 8.20 is now available for your G300 and G400 mice

Placeholder for deleted post about issue with Logitech G700 software. Whole post deleted rather than specific content.

Please post here any issues you are having with any Logitech hardware or software related to the G-S...

A bit rude to delete the whole post when it had valid points related to software issues.

Why not re-instate the post and explain, because it seems an issue of ego to me rather than support/ service?
