This started happening to me to a few weeks after purchasing mine.
Randomly disconnects for 10 second intervals. Every time it happens my computer tells the device has been unplugged even though it hasn't. This gets me killed in games, makes web browsing extremely frustrating. This is a huge problem.
I have Windows 7 64-bit. I uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers, downloaded that app thing that helps you bind buttons (why do I need an app just to get a mouse to not disconnect), and changed which USB port it goes in. The problem still persists.
I borrowed my roommate's $15 HP mouse and it never disconnected once. Before getting my G400 I had a Razer Black Mamba. In the 2 YEARS I owned it, it never disconnected or needed driver updates.
This is unacceptable and it's too late for me to refund it now so I basically just wasted $60 on a mouse that randomly decides to stop working...
Clearly many people are having this problem why hasn't this been fixed yet?
EDIT: Also when it disconnects, my headphones/speakers become very quiet. When it says the mouse has been reconnected they're suddenly put at full volume for a few seconds before returning to the sound they were originally at. Don't know if that means anything.

hi,
a mate have the same problem here as you guys...
I have bought also a G400 on his advice, works fine (Windows XP 32bit and Windows 7 32bit)
He bought a new hi-end pc recently with the G400, worked normally for months , after that it seem to reconnect continually.
He also have a G15 keyboard. The G15 just stopped working twice , a reboot was necessary.
All in all, he just bought a new motherboard! we all though it should be his motherboard, even though it is a two months old system.
He replaced his motherboard, and directly occured the same problems with the G400.
So he tried the mx518 he had earlier, it seem to work till three days ago.. constantly reconnecting within 10sec.
Could it be a problem with logitech and 64bit systems? Or is he just unlucky with those two products (G400 and mx518)
Waiting for your response,
Sven

Yes he did and yes he will. I was just wondering if 64bit can cause the problem with the G400 mouse.

No, 64 bit would not be the issue.

Hello logitech, i too have problems with this product.
It all started around 2 years ago, when i bought the mx518. After around 10 months, it started disconnecting /reconnecting. At first i was sure this was a driver problem , and tried reinstalling drivers a few times etc. It did not fix the problem and so i gave up and suffered with this mouse for about 10 more months. Eventually i noticed the mouse disconnects when i make certain movements with it, and sure enough a quick test revealed the problem to be within the mouse's cable.
Anyway, armed with this knowledge i spent an afternoon driving and waiting in the line of the store i bought it from. the said store quickly recognized the problem and replaced my mx518 with a g400 (they claimed its the same only a newer model, and i thought, 'what the hell?')
Now, 5 months later, i have this same problem with the g400. i am extremely frustrated with those mice, and not only that, it appears my warranty will have trouble taking effect, as it is for an mx518, and while the employee who replaced my mx518 did give me a replacement recipt, the genius wrote on it that he replaced mx518 to another mx518 (while he gave me a g400), therefore rendering my waranty ineffective for my mouse. I talked to the logitech customer service in my country (Israel) and he said they cant help me without a replacement recipt that indicates i own a g400.
so basically i have used logitech products for 2 years now, and im sorry to say i regret it, seeing as about half of this time has been spent battling with faulty wirings. And now i, again, have to spend my free time driving around trying to get the people i bought it from to replace it, which they probably wont.

I'm having this same issue, this is the second mouse from logitech this problem has occured with, and I see that the only solution is to send the customer a new one.
After this incedent, and after seeing the unanswered complaints of so many other users, I have become greatly disturbed by the lack of repsonse given by the staff. If I am not provided with an adequate fix for this device's connectivity issues, then I will have no choice but to avoid ever purchasing a logitech product again. The cavalier attitude that this company is displaying about their customer's complaints, and the repeated malfunction of their products, is completely unacceptable.

Same here. MX518 swaped with G400 in order to cure conn/disconn. issue, but here we go again, after only a several month of usage..
