My G500's right click keeps doing strange things

I recently bought a G500 mouse and it was working great up until about a day ago.  Now whenever I right click on something on the taskbar it opens it again and does not give a menu to select from and while viewing a webpage in internet explorer it gives a scroll button where the mouse pointer is and does not pop up the menu options (copy paste and so forth.)

I have another mouse (different brand and very simple) and it works just fine but my G500 just keeps doing it over and over and it will not stop.  Any ideas here cause ive tried a system restore and I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers and software.  Also tried checking the mouse settings themself in setpoint and my right click is labeled as right click.

Re: My G500's right click keeps doing strange things

Hello Moadebe,

Since the other mouse works as expected, it leads me to wonder if you have installed an application for that mouse as well as SetPoint for your G500? What operating system are you using?  I suggest trying your G500 on a different computer if possible to rule out a hardware issue.

Re: My G500's right click keeps doing strange things

Thank you for the response.  Sadly I do not have access to another computer at this time.  The mouse was working just fine for awhile now and the only software I have installed is the setpoint off of the website (logitech setpoint 6.32.)  I have attempted to uninstall it and reinstall it and nothing sadly.

(Please read the entire post cause it is not just a browser issue)

I probably wasn't very clear in the original post so Let me explain exactly what is going on.

My computer is a windows 7 64bit OS system first of all.

I use Firefox for my main browsing needs but I use Internet explorer for work purposes.

What the right click is doing is when I right click on a webpage (to say copy and paste something after highlighting it) it will pop up the scroll circle button (little greyish circle at the mouse pointer with an up arrow and down arrow above and below a black center circle within the grey circle.)  If I hold the right click button down it will scroll the page up and down.  Even if I dont hold the right click button down and just press it the scroll circle appears and then disappears.

This WAS happening on both Firefox and Internet Explorer.  However, I turned off smooth scrolling in Firefox and now it appears to not happen in Firefox...but I cannot get it to stop doing it in Internet Explorer.

THIS IS NOT ALL.

If I right click an icon in my taskbar at the bottom of the screen (say to close a program or file directory) it will show the menu to close the program for a split second and then open the program (or file directory) again.  This happens to any and all open programs or files showing up in the task bar at the bottom.

Another peculiar effect is this...I play League of Legends.  In the game you right click on your screen to move your character.  However, right clicking the mouse while playing has the effect of actually scrolling the screen to look around AND moves the character.  I can even hold the right mouse button down and it will scroll the screen.  This is not supposed to be doing this.  It has never done something like this before and in the game if I use another mouse it works just fine.

(I know LoL is not your scope of support but trying to give examples of the mouse messing up in other programs other than a browser setting.)

I hope this helps.  It almost seems like there is a page scrolling setting that is being tied to the right click button but I cannot find such a setting anywhere.  I have checked setpoint and right click is designated right click and no other buttons are designated right click.  I have checked the settings in Win 7 for the mouse and see nothing there.  The closest thing I have come to a setting is the smooth scrolling function in Firefox that did stop the right click from scrolling in firefox but only Firefox.

I hope this helps and await any reply that you can give me.

Re: My G500's right click keeps doing strange things

Hello Moadebe,

Thank you for the detailed post. Your issue certainly is puzzling. It almost sounds like a macro. Have you checked the profile stored in the onboard memory of your G500?

Re: My G500's right click keeps doing strange things

I just took a look at it and there is just the general profile on there (the default one and the one that cannot be deleted.)  There are no macro's made either that I can see.  The most puzzling thing about this is that it WAS working just fine for about a week and then this started happening.

If there is another way to check the macro's or saved variables on the mouse itself by all means let me know but I am checking in setpoint and there is nothing that I can see there.
