Replacing DPI Buttons

[ Edited ]

Hi All,

I recently bought the G300 and was really disappointed that only the two left side buttons seem capable  of actually doing something. The right ones are for changing the DPI, which I never do, and for changing the profile, which I wouldn't have to do if I had access to bindings for all the buttons.

After going the through the program, the only thing I can find is that you can bind the middle two and right two buttons to keystrokes which is pointless because different programs use different keys for different things. I would love to be able to just go into whatever program I happen to be using and set the those four keys to specific commands like I can with the leftmost ones.

Could anyone please tell what I have been doing wrong?

Thanks.

Re: Replacing DPI Buttons

Hello WhyCantitWork,

I would suggest creating profiles for each game or application and assign the buttons for that particular program. Some games also have in game mouse bindings.

I have looked through the program, but have not found any way to change the buttons so that they act as different clicks. From what I have found, you can only assign:

Left Click (button 1)

Right Click  (button 2)

Middle Click  (button 3)

Back  (button 4)

Forward  (button 5)

DPI up

DPI down

DPI shift

DPI cycling

DPI default

Mode switch

Only the first five are actually able to interact with software from what I have seen and while they can be bound to specific keys, this does not seem as useful as being an independent bindable button to press should I so desire.

The options after the fifth are utterly useless to me and I would just like a way to assign them to say  button 6, 7, 8, etc. rahter than being limited to 5 plus DPI modifiers or keyboard combinations.

If your suggestion would allow this, could you please explain how to do it as I am at a loss.

Thanks
