I just got a G500, plugged it in, then downloaded latest version of SetPoint from Logitech's site. It was 6.2
After installing, then running All programs > Logitech > G9x, G500 and G700 Gaming Mice > Device Settings it says it cannot recognize any devices.
I restarted. I uninstalled and reinstalled SetPoint. I confirmed that a "G500" shows up in device manager. I tried another USB port.
Nothing works. Very frustrating, as this mouse has little benefit without the software.
What else could I try?

Looks like it, but no solutions seem to be posted. Just basic suggestions that I have already tried.

Just got off the phone with support. Basically wasn't any help. They suggested that I try to replace the mouse. Kinda silly, considering it works fine. Windows knows it's a G500, but SetPoint can't find it. Everything works fine except the extra functionality provided by the software... which is a lot.
So, of course, they blame my computer. It's brand new Intel 1155 hardware and no problems with anything else whatsoever.
It's clear their software is lacking something and just doesn't work on this hardware, which is their problem.

Same problem here.
Windows W7 x64 recognizes G500 mouse but Setpoint says it won't find supported device's.
In windows device manager driver set to it is:
Logitech HID-compliant G500 gaming mouse
24.8.2010
5.20.12.0
I'm returning this and getting razor.

Having weird software troubles, or installation won't work? Test in Clean Boot!

I have the same problem only with g9x. i am running setpoint as admin, but setpoint still does not see the mouse. Windows however has no problem at all and has the g9x as my mouse in the contrls panel. How do i fix this?
I tried to delete/install the setpoint may times, from the cd and from the internet. nothing helped

Yes i'm admin and only user. This seems to be very common problem with newer logitech laser mouses.
I think they should start doing something about i and not just ignoring it. This is very annoying since I bouht this mouse for gaming and it's acting like any other basic mouse![]()

"Yes i'm admin and only user."
This doesn't mean anything. Exit SetPoint, go to wherever you do to strart SetPoint, right-click SerPoint and choose Run As Administrator. Does that work?

No that won't help. Setpoint just dosen't work. And since setpoint is autorun application it would be stubid way to run it.
I'm returning the mouse bye.![]()
