I have read through SEVERAL threads where SetPoint is not detecting the G9x gaming mouse. I meticulously read through each of those threads and did EXACTLY what they did in order to solve their problems with the mouse, but unfortunately I still have YET to fix the problem for me. I have uninstalled and reinstalled SetPoint I don't know how many times, and I have restarted my laptop millions of times and SetPoint REFUSES to detect my mouse. Yes, my drivers are working, yes, SetPoint is updated (even though when I go to check to see if SetPoint has finally detecting my mouse it says that the SetPoint version is 5.46.10 and the driver version is 5.33.14) I have updated everything I possibly can to ensure that maybe, JUST MAYBE that SetPoint has detected my mouse. I honestly do not know what else to do and I am hoping that someone within this community can help me out.

Hello CGRobs
Try the following steps and see if it helps resolve the issue:
1.First Go to the device manager
-If you have Windows XP, refer to this link
-If you have Windows Vista/Windows 7, check this link
2. Onthe Device manager, look for "Mice and other pointing devices"
3. Look for the entry for the Logitech G9x
4. If the entry for the Logitech G9x has an exclamation mark on it, right click it then click on "update driver software"
5. Update the driver software automatically
6. Run Setpoint and check and see if it detects the G9x now.

I tried this as well, it didn't work for me... There are so many people having this issue. It must be a problem with the software.

Hello jgagli
Try the following steps out and check if they resolve the issue:
-Run msconfig.
-Go to the Start-Up Tab.
-Look for Setpoint and uncheck it.
-Click OK then restart the computer
-Test if the software will detect the G9x mouse now.
Hope this helps.

I have tried every solution listed. When I play around with the device manager and uninstall the HID-compliant mouse above my G9x then scan for hardware changes the HID-compliant mouse comes back, this indicates to me that my G9x is being recognized as a generic mouse everytime. Now what?

Hello OmegaKAY,
Are there two separate entries in the device manager? One for the Logitech G9x Laser Mouse and one for HID compliant mouse? The HID compliant mouse might be an entry for another mouse. Do you have more than one mouse plugged in to the computer?

Mouse: Logitech G9X
OS: Windows 7 Pro 32bit service pack 1
setpoint632
I found my solution at Newegg...i simply read the reviews and put the keyword 'setpoint' and voila...
credit goes to 'limited' who posted his review on 8/15/2012 1:38:42 PM
he simply ran the installer as admin and then opened the program (logitech>device setting) as admin and the logitech mouse was there =]
hope this helps some of you guys having difficulty with this situation, took me 3 hours to find my solution =/
