While it is understandable that supporting a pre-release OS would cause more trouble than necessary, I must point out the fiasco that Windows Vista had when it first came out. Granted, on a basic and fundamental level of functionality, mice and keyboards can work satisfactory as they wait for proper software and/or drivers. But with the mess that Microsoft has caused with the launch of Vista, and the hardware compatibility problems of not having drivers to bring the hardware's fullest potential, it would be good if you would release a pre-release version of the software and/or drivers that supports Windows 7 at the very least. Companies like nvidia, AMD/ATi, and even Creative Labs all have released Windows 7 drivers (albeit a beta version) for their hardware despite that the OS is at Release Candidate stage. Do not fall behind!
If you are going to develop a compatible version of your drivers and softwares to support Windows 7, all I ask is that these driver/software be released between RTM and the OS's street date. There will be people who will sidestep the waiting game and pick up an OEM copy of the software. Early adopters will seek out proper drivers for their hardware, as will I, being a Windows 7 x64 user myself and owning a G5 mouse. The sooner proper drivers and/or software are released for Windows 7, the better off users like myself will be when they make the early jump to the new OS.
