diNovoEdge kb + g700 mouse + setpoint settings

[ Edited ]

EDIT:  this is for a win7 64bit machine.

i have the dinovo edge kb and the g700 mouse.

i cannot figure out how to customize all the buttons on the mouse.   when i open the setpoint to change settings, it only gives me the options to change the mouse settings on my dinovo edge kb mouse, not my g700.

i have the latest setpoint.

anyone have any ideas?

thanks for your help.

Re: diNovoEdge kb + g700 mouse + setpoint settings

If you have installed SetPoint 6.20, then you installed the most recent version for both products.  The G700 uses a different version of SetPoint that is installed with the sp620exe.  Browse Start > Programs > Logitech > G500 G700 and G9x (not Mouse and Keyboard Settings).  This version of SetPoint is 5.40 which is for the gaming mice because they have different functions than regular mice.  It should be a red and brownish color instead of white and green.

got it.  kudos for that.  thank you.

i am trying to assign a button to open a program, specifically outlook 2010.

do you know how to assign that?  i have tried to locate the file, and was able to find the exe shortcut, but once it is selected, the popup closes and nothing happens and it is still unassigned.

Re: diNovoEdge kb + g700 mouse + setpoint settings

You can do it three different ways.  Fn+F3 has an email icon which is what I will use in this explanation.

  1. Set as Default Task and make Outlook your default email application in Windows
  2. Set as Launch Program C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.exe
  3. Set as Open File C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.exe

errr...

ok, here is what i have tried...to no avail yet....

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE12 or 14 are all the options, with no outlook.exe in either directory.

C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.exe....meh...forget it.

i found it here!

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\OUTLOOK.EXE

maybe this has to do with it being a 64bit machine?

Re: diNovoEdge kb + g700 mouse + setpoint settings

That's correct.  When you have a 64 bit system, some programs default to the x86 folder.

My shortcut was off, but it got you in the right direction.  I'm glad you got it working.
