Re: g400 angle snapping/mouse prediction removed?

My G400 doesn't follow your PID numbering scheme mine says PID: LZ141GH

Re: g400 angle snapping/mouse prediction removed?

That would be a PID higher than LZ13333.

Angle snapping was removed as of PID LZ13333.  Lower PIDs have angle snapping.

There is no way to specify in online orders which version you are going to get.  As time goes on, it is more likely that you will receive a non-angle-snapping version as stock of the older version is depleted.

In retail stores, you can tell the difference between the older and newer versions by the package's transparent closure labels; G400s without angle snapping have the Logitech logo printed on these labels.  G400s with angle snapping have no printing on these labels.

I just bought a G400 at Best Buy that had "Logitech" printed on the transparent tape, but once I opened it and looked on the bottom, the PID # is LZ13233.  Does this mean it has prediction?

I don't seem to have angle snapping, yet, the PID # is incorrect.  Here's an example I did in Paint...

AngleSnapping?

Re: g400 angle snapping/mouse prediction removed?

Why does it matter if you can't tell yourself and have to ask? lol

Mice with prediction can still draw curved lines, and my G9 can draw 100% straight lines in paint, and that has no prediction, so IMO paint isn't 100% accurate.

I was just about to buy a new G400 as I bought one 7th December (not used yet) gutted that this new one came out. Turned out it was one of the new batch :smileyhappy:

What I want to know, has it got _exactly_ the same sensor but just without prediction? Has anything else changed?

Re: g400 angle snapping/mouse prediction removed?

Hi Gentoo64,

The angle snapping has been disabled in the firmware.

That's the only thing that has been changed with the mouse.

If it was a firmware fix why not release an update so people can fix the problem in their mouse instead of forcing them to buy a new one.

Re: g400 angle snapping/mouse prediction removed?

If I send my "old" G400 to Logitech, is there a possiblity, that Logitech send me the new model

without preditction?

I'd be interested in knowing this too as I went out and bought a new one, which leaves me with one not being used.
