g9x 2 problems

Dear Logitech,

I have 2 problems.

First of all, my Logitech Setpoint software associated with my newly purchased g9x gives me the following message.

"Setpoint did not detect any supported devices. Please check your connection."

However, from browsing through your forums, I found a quick fix but tedious solution. I cannot find the thread as of now but I memorize the steps for the solution. First, I have to select "Selective Startup" and unchecked "Load startup items" then I have to restart my computer. From there, my Setpoint can now detect my g9x. After I configure my mouse, I have to restart my computer again. This solution is tedious but I do not mind. If there is a solution that does not involve me restarting my computer twice, that would be greatly appreciated.

My 2nd problem involves my precision grip that comes with the g9x. When you fully snap on the precision grip, the 2 side buttons no longer function. I think this may be an alignment  problem. My widegrip does not have this problem. I went back to Future Shop to exchange my g9x for another one. The precision grip of the new g9x still has the same problem. I guess all the g9x's in future shop were manufactured in the same timeframe period and have not sold regularly.

I love Logitech because they produce quality products and they are not money hungry. As well, friends have told me that Logitech has great customer service. However, friends have told me that Logitech does not provide the same customer service to Canadians as they do to Americans. (I am Canadian). I love the g9x because it is very customizable and I think Logitech thought of everything that a mouse can be customizable with. The g9x is well worth its price.

Sorry for typing a lot but I have taken my time to browse through your forums and put this forum post into paragraphs.

Re: g9x 2 problems

Hello GordonZ,

When you run a clean boot on the computer the mouse is being detected by the software. You actually dont need to do this everytime so you can program the mouse. Please reinstall the setpoint software on a Clean Boot mode on your computer. You can update the mouse driver automatically in device manager. If the mouse is still not detected by the Setpoint sofware, uninstall the mouse  driver from Device manager, unplug the mouse and reboot the computer.

Regarding with the issue your having with the grip of your mouse, so it has been replaced from the store but still the side buttons do not work if the precision grip is placed. This can be caused by a defective grip. You can try contacting our customer care desk so we can assist you further. You can refer to link below for the support.
