Recently, less than a month ago, I purchased a Logitech Cordless Action controller for my PS2 since my original PS2 controller finally quit working. Everything was working fine, and for the most part it does now, however...when I power down my PS2, my controller doesn't shut down. Originally, after shut down of my PS2, the controller would shut down, but now the LED next to the mode button just flashes continuously. The controller functions fine, all of the buttons work, the joysticks work...it's all fully operational. The receiver that is plugged into the PS2 receives with no problem. To sum it up, it all works just like it did out of the package, but now the controller won't shut down.
I've tried a few things. Taking the batteries out of my controller for a few minutes and then putting them back in seems to be fine until I go to play a game. Once I turn my PS2 off, the controller goes back into the flashing LED mode, IE: The seeking mode.
Is there any particular reason why my controller would do that? Is it faulty? I've tried a few sets of fresh batteries, so I know it's not a battery issue.
If anybody can give me a sound answer, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Actually there might be nothing wrong with your controller, I know because I have a logitech ps2 wireless controller myself, just leave it alone for about 5 to 10 minutes and it will eventually shut off and you wont see the light blinking on and off until you press one of the buttons again, it is actually a feature that logitech incorporated into the ps2 wireless game controller to keep the batteries from wearing down too fast, you see it would take more energy for something to turn completely on and off excessively if something is used very often then if it was just in standby mode and then be used within a few minutes of it being in standby mode. you see that after the controller is not being used/put down it goes into a standby mode by the light blinking on and off for a minute or two then it eventually stops blinking this means that it is completely turned off until it is used again. if the light still blinks on and off for more than 10 minutes there is a button that should be on the receiver(the part that plugs into the ps2) just press this button a few times or press and hold the button for a few seconds while the ps2 video game console is on and the signal from the controller that transmits to the receiver should reset and the controller should function normally again, if the problem still persists after taking the steps that I just mentioned above the controller could be defective and If were you I would return the controller if the warranty did not expire yet were I purchased it from and get a replacement logitech ps2 wireless controller.
