And these things were supposed to be "Plug & Play"...bah!
Anyways, I recently recieved my Logitech Play Link in the mail and was all excited, "No more lag from wireless connection from accross the house! And no more drops from the microwave!" But alas, I do precisely as the instructions say - I plug in the ethernet cables into both the play links. I plugged one into my Xbox360, and the other one into my WRT54GX2 Linksys router. I do all this with the cable modem turned off. I plug both play links' power outlets in, and turn my cable modem back on. But when I went to see if it all worked as easily as it said it did, I get the "Profile could not sign into Xbox Live" error (it never works as easily as it says it does). So I go and check my xbox live connection. It detects that the connection is via "wired," ok, cool; but when it came to IP address, it fails. Blast! I've tried unplugging everything for 30 seconds to a minute, and plugging it back in - nothing. DHCP is enabled, IP address is set to auto, everythings' plugged in correctly...I dont know what's going wrong. The LED lights on the Play Links are on, which, according to the instructions, means there's no data being transfered and to check and make sure the ethernet cables are plugged in correctly (believe me, they're in there). But I've also had the play link that was plugged into the router blinking, and the other not, and still have the same issue. I even plugged one DIRECTLY INTO THE MODEM!....and still nothing. I did get both play links' LED lights blinking, indicating that communication WAS happening, but still got the "IP address failed" problem. Please, if ANYONE'S had this issue and has figured out the problem, or if you're just a well meaning Moderator trying to help, please, pleeeeaaase lend me your assistance, for I've tried all I can think of and nothing works.
Thankyou SO much in advance!

That worked WONDERS for connecting the Play Link Unit directly to the modem. Still unable to get it to work via the router, though, meaning the routers' probably the problem, either some setting or a need of a firmware update...hoping it's one of those, anyway. And the reviews are right, the logitech play link works fanTASTICALLY. Playing an online game of Crackdown, it use to lag SUPER badly. Now it's PERFECT! Just need to get the thing to work when plugged into the router ![]()

What you can try doing is setting up a local static IP on your internal network. Your Xbox360 might be having a hard time procuring an IP address, and so setting up a static IP address with assigned DNS on the Xbox might help you use it through the router.
Actually the reason he is unable to sign into xbox live is because the 360 along with the PS3 requires a high speed internet connection. The Playlink actually only transmits at 900 mHz and is not high speed. While setting an static IP would work as far as getting it to work for a regular xbox or PS2.
