I was just wondering whether the red light on the controller is supposed to stay on even while the XBOX is turned off, and if it would affect the battery life; the controller isn't old as it only arrived yesterday

First of all, thank you for purchasing the precision controller as your preferred controller for Xbox. If you shut down the Xbox, the light will fade away for energy saving. The controller draws power from the Xbox, so if the Xbox is turn off, so does the controller. At this point, I would recommend to test the controller on other consoles and see whether the problem persists. I look forward to hear from you soon .
