Problem with Vantage USB Microphone for Xbox 360

Problem with Vantage USB Microphone for Xbox 360

I connected it, used a controler to play Rock band but it doesn't detect the microphone in any usb port.

I connected the Mic to a PC and it was properly recognized by win xp and could use it as a normal mic. WHy can't my xbox 360 detect it at all??

Did you get a response to this? I have the exact same problem. Microphone is not recognized by XBox, but my Mac and PC both recognize it.

Didn't got a response, however after moving around the USB connector I found out that it has like a false so after moving it around it got recognized and worked perfectly. Also try to have the cable extended all the way

Re: Problem with Vantage USB Microphone for Xbox 360

the same thing happened to me. I tried unplugging it and straightening out, then plugging back in and wiggling. This did nothing. I also tried plugging it into a usb extender cable and plugging it into the 360.

I'm frustrated because I just rented rock band. The Mic instantly got recognized by my WinXP computer as soon as I plugged it in.

any more suggestions?

Make sure you have a controller plugged in and active separate from the guitars and drums. It will still use the mic.

What do you mean, a separate controller plugged in? I've only got wireless controllers, so should I have one of my regular gamepad controllers active when I want to use the mic? That's a real waste of batteries.

If this is true, it's going straight back to the shop. False advertising in my opinion.

"HERE'S A FANTASTIC LOGITECH USB MICROPHONE FOR XBOX 360 (but it doesn't really work normally and you'll have to jump through hoops to use it, not to mention waste a lot of batteries even though the microphone is wired)".

Please tell me this isn't true.

Re: Problem with Vantage USB Microphone for Xbox 360

it is correct that you need to have another control plugged in.

I believe the reasoning for this is that it would be difficult for the user to navigate through the rock band menus (buy stuff.... choose difficulty) without one.

I felt the same way you do now, a little while ago, but am now ok with it.  and.... I plug this thing into my usb port on my pc to record my REAL guitar playing and this thing works pretty well.... not up to standards of a $100+ microphone, but it certainly does the job!
