Re: Yellow Dog Linux dirver for Cordless MediaBoard Pro

Hi Potential MediaBoard Pro buyer,

This is the offical answer from Logitech for yr ref :

"We do not support Linux hence we do not have a driver or software for it. This applies for our keyboard as well."

Hence, pls consider do this meet yr requirement !!

Re: Yellow Dog Linux dirver for Cordless MediaBoard Pro

Hi Great News,

With the launch of new Yellow Dog Linux 6, the MediaBoard Pro support is sorted out.  Pls try out the following :

1. Follow the normal install procedure for YDL6;

2. Launch YDL 6 in KDE mode (supposely also work in other GNOME or E16 mode) with root;

3. Issue command

#hidd --server -n

4. Turn on / reset the keyboard, and wait for a few seconds, the screen will appear something like this :

hidd [xxxx]: Rejected connection from unknown device AA;BB:CC:smileyvery-happy:D:EE:FF

5. Press ctrl-c to close hidd and write

#hidd -connect AA:BB:CC:smileyvery-happy:D:EE:FF

6. Issue command to verify the keyboard connection

#hidd --search

Now, the MediaBoard keyboard shall work remotely even after the YDL6 is restarted / rebooted.  Have Fun !!

Re: Yellow Dog Linux dirver for Cordless MediaBoard Pro

 When I try to enter the command "hidd --server -n"   I got a error message 'Access Denied' or something...

 And when I type "hidd --search" It founds the the device, but still get 'Access denied"           I use Yellow Dog 6.0 and have taken all the updates...

I also read today that YellowDog 6.1 was just released, and one of the big news is that it can use PS3's VideoRAM. The problem with the previous version is that it's a bit slow. But the new version should be much faster..

Hope this version supports the MediaBoard Pro without a driver... :-)
