and Vista recognizes the game pad.
I installed the software from Logitech's web page NOT from the disc that comes with the
game pad.
Cheers....

I have Vista Entreprise Edition, 32 bit, with service pack 1, and it does NOT recognize my dual Action gamepad. But it does sometimes say that it detects a driver, but that it is written for Windows 95...
I installed the logitech gamepad managing software 5.02 from the website, but it still does not solve the problem...
Does the problem come from vista service pack 1 ?

Yesterday, I went through the long and boring process of uninstalling SP1, plugging my Dual Action Gamepad (which was then recognized without any problems!) and reinstalling SP1.
I was also noticing the "unknown device" in Windows Device Manager. I simply deleted it and plugged the gamepad , to make sur it would be detected as a fresh new device. And it worked.
So I'me pretty sure this could work for you. This is definitely not cool to have such bugs with a service Pack. I hope Microsoft corrects this soon!
By the way, it seems I didn't have to uninstall the "KB98etc..." update that I talked about in a previous post. Only SP1.
