Cordless Mediaboard - PC Compatable?

Is the Cordless Mediaboard designed for the PS3 PC compatable?  I have my PC set up in the other room and hooked to my TV via a long VGA cable.  Currently I'm using an old Logitec Wireless Keyboard and Mouse combo.  It works but I hate using the standard mouse while in my recliner.  Having a touchpad mouse on the keyboard would make things considerably easier.

I'd say "try". It should work fine.

What about the Cordless MediaBoard Pro? Is it possible to just plug the bluetooth dongle that comes with it on your PC and use it as a regular keyboard? If it's possible, this is definitively a must have for any HTPC.

Re: Cordless Mediaboard - PC Compatable?

I took a dive and ordered the Mediaboard pro from Amazon last night. I have not found anything that says it will work with my PC, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If not I'll have to send it back and try something else.

Has anyone tried this on a PC yet to see if it works? I really hope it does. because for the price it is th best solution out there for me right now.

Re: Cordless Mediaboard - PC Compatable?

Just a follow-up... (Keep in mind this is using the KB on a Windows PC not a PS3. I am fully aware this is not it's intended usage.)

I got the keyboard and here are my initial feelings:

1. It does work. Make you set your bluetooth software to connect without using a passkey.
2. No Windows key, but that is minor.
3. It feels pretty flimsy. Weighs about 12oz in my opinion.
4. Takes more key pressure then I like. With the light weight of the board you end up pushing the KB around your lap when you try to type if you don't have it in a pretty stable position.
5. The touchpad is good. The vertical scrolling is pretty accurate.
6. The media keys are worthless with Windows Media Player, but I am sure they can be remapped. I never use them so I don't mind.

Overall it works fine and if it holds up to my pounding on the keys I think I'll be happy in the long run.

I tried it on my PC too. It works perfectly in WinXP, but has problem in Vista that the touchpad is not working just the keyboard is fine. I guess the touchpad function of this board need driver in Vista, but there is not any download driver of it from logitech website, because it is for PS3!....anyone got good solution for it?

Re: Cordless Mediaboard - PC Compatable?

Maybe try downloading a synaptics touchpad driver for Vista from somewhere? I was thinking of trying this so see if I could vary the sensitivity setting for it without effecting the mouse. Shot in the dark...

Re: Cordless Mediaboard - PC Compatable?

Just contacted local Logitech support(in China), they told me to install driver-setpoint 4.0 for vista to solve this problem. I also got feedback from vendor: Logitech will release a pack to fix it, but not pls wait... Confused! Try it tonight! Thanks to the mjm7496~

Re: Cordless Mediaboard - PC Compatable?

Bad news!  Setpoint 4.0 for vista can not support the touchpad of this mediaboard in Vista Ultimate, so as synaptics.......

Maybe it really need a fix package to solve the problem in Vista system!
