Re: Extreme 3d Pro Joystick / USB 350 Headset Issues.

Thanks for the  help Knighthawk, Ya no I contacted tech support and I guess they just search forums for answers. The main question I asked them  was, dose the G25 work with USB sound and I just can't get a straight answer. So I given up and ended up splitting off my external speaker wire so both analog headset and external speakers are on and I just have to turn down the sound on my external speakers turn up in line volume on headset. I have an Audigy 2 ZS sound card and its not bad still not as clear as the USB sound.

Thanks for the help and I'll be still checking this forum for answers BTW whats PNP? and yes I run XP smoker tweaker.

PNP = Plug and Play

The reason I mentioned that was because I was beginning to wonder if some of us that are having problems, like the new hardware wizard not running after installing things, may have been related to having this service disabled. My thinking is that if its turned off then XP doesnt know to load the proper drivers when new hardware is plugged in. (its a stab in the dark).

Re: Extreme 3d Pro Joystick / USB 350 Headset Issues.

I have the same problem. I have run pretty much everything you guys have and nothing helps. That is except dishing out more hard earned cash for a powered USB hub.  Just to add some info, I tried listening to music, and then while listening, plugged in the G25 USB plug. Instant distortion. Pulling the plug did not rectify the problem, and the distortion remained until rebooting without the G25 plugged in. I have a number of other complex USB game controllers, and none have any problems in this respect.

The problem is clearly that the G25 when plugged in is stepping on the USB sound application. The G25 is the problem and not some issue with my PC or any of the peripherals, and in my opinion, it is Logitech who should be investigating the problem and finding a permanent fix, and not suggesting workarounds

I have paid enough for the G25 and a good quality USB headset to expect them to work properly together, and Logitech should work together with Plantronics to find a solution

If the only solution is a powered USB hub, then I would expect Logitech to step up to the plate and supply one at no cost.

Grumpy, instances like this are normally caused by all your USB ports being over loaded. I would suggest to remove all USB devices except for your mouse and keyboard and install the others one by one to determine the cause of the problems.

Greetings Mona,

I am having the same issues.  I have unloaded all USB ports and get the same corruption in sound using a Logitech or Plantronics USB headset.  I have also plugged in a Logitech Driving Force Pro and that works fine.  It only happens when plugging in the G25.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Extreme 3d Pro Joystick / USB 350 Headset Issues.

Hello All,

Your sound issues have been reported to our QA department. If possible, can anyone having USB headset problems when a Logitech gaming device is connected, please post their system specs. Please try to be detailed especially when providing sound card specs. This will help us track down the cause of the issue. Thanks.

Re: Extreme 3d Pro Joystick / USB 350 Headset Issues.

I'm running the following equipment and am also suffering from the same issue

- Lenovo USB keyboard
- Logitech MX Revolution
- Logitech Premium USB headset
- Logitech G25 wheel

I am using Windows XP Pro SP2 with all the latest patches, all the latest drivers for my machine (Shuttle SN25P, 7950GT, X2 4600+, 2Gb Memory).

I thought my Logitech headset had died so shelled out on a new Beyerdynamics USB head set (not cheap) and it had exactly the same issue.

The problem existed even after a full Windows XP Pro reinstall.

When I booted into Windows Vista the problem didn't exist while the standard USB HID drivers were in use but as soon as the Logitech gaming software package was installed the problem cropped up there as well.

I have switched back to PS/2 keyboard and mouse, leaving only the headset and the G25 and still had the same issue.

I have switched back to using my Logitech Momo wheel with the same two USB headsets and the problem does not exist.

This is very clearly a problem with the G25 or its drivers that Logitech provides.

Now if I could only get Windows to uninstall all of the Logitech drivers to see if the problem goes away (but I loose functionality for my G25) then i'd be partially happy.

I'd also be happy if Logitech would do ANYTHING about this issue, even recognise that the issue does exist and stop blaiming USB drivers.

If the problem DOES NOT exist before the Logitech software is installed, and DOES exist after its installed, then its pretty clear that either the software is at fault or the software is conflicting with something else.

I have quite a lot of Logitech gear and this is putting a very sour taste in my mouth for purchasing further expensive $499 AUD devices from them.
