Logitech rebate scam!

I bought two Logitech Quickcam STX web cameras for Christmas. I sent in the rebate EXACTLY as instructed, including the orginal UPC code from the box. My rebate has been rejected because, Logitech says, I sent the wrong UPC code. Well, there wasn't another one.

I believe that this supposed rebate is really a Logitech scam to gouge customers. (This happens frequently, as others will attest.) I will never, ever buy another Logitech product.

It is a dishonest company.

Hi there,

Sad to hear that your rebate got rejected due to incorrect UPC code. I have notified the relevant department on your case and will get back to you as soon as possible.

Cheers :smileyhappy:

Re: Logitech rebate scam!

It may not be Logitech.  Generally companies like Office Max hire companies to handle their rebates.  I now only do rebates as a last resort to get a lower price.

With Officemax rebates it got so bad, that now WHENEVER I file for ANY rebate, not only do I photocopy everything,  I also videotape me reading their form, reading back the UPCs, instructions and videotape me enclosing all requested information.

The very first time I videotaped it, they tried to pull a scam like that saying I didn't enclose the UPC code, I asked how to sue them, and finally just said I would file a small claims form against Officemax who hired them, because I had videotaped me enclosing it.  They sounded VERY surprised I videotaped it, and immediately said they would make "this one time exception".  This same thing has happed a total of 3 MORE TIMES!!! Same "one time exception".

Most rebates are a SCAM you have to fight to get what they say you will get. In my opinion I see it as nothing short of False advertisement.

Re: Logitech rebate scam!

Tfung writes that he sent me a PM. He did not. He also wrote on Feb 27 that he'd "notified the relevant department on [my] case." I've heard nothing. More evidence on how Logitech deals with customers. Don't buy Logitech!

Re: Logitech rebate scam!

I agree, what a scam!!!  I sent in properly completed rebate months ago and all I get is a run around.  This was no third party rebate company scam, it was a Logitech rebate program from the start.  I also will never buy another Logitech product again, and I will advise anyone who asks to do the same.

Re: Logitech rebate scam!

Yea, I hear you loud and clear!

I sent in the form, UPC code, and the original receipt and got an email saying my rebate was invalid - the reason was "missing purchase location." On the rebate form it item ask for "place of purchase" and I put Fry's. I think when I said Fry's, that should be sufficient. This is a scam knowing most people will not say Fry's at Fremont, California. Besides, with the original receipt, the exact location is clearly visible. If they is they way they want to do business, I for one will not buy their product again. I will also advise my friends and family not to buy anything from them.
