Could someone please provide me with all of the numbers (verbatim) from the battery pack? Also if anyone could provide a detailed photo of the contacts as well as the index indentations at the corners, I think I may have an aftermarket source for this battery. Thanks in advance!

The inside compartment is labeled
"
M/N: R-IG7
P/N: 866145-0000
Rating: 3.7V (symbol like = sign but bottom line is dashed), 800mA
PID: LZ641B90DLB
Made in China
"
I don't have a battery, so no picture. We know that it is the same size as the Nokia BLB-2 battery, and htat battery properly opertes the remote, but that battery can't be charged in the cradle. I read on another site that it is the number of contacts. They look the same but looking closely one of the batteries has 2 terminals joined, so one has more functioning terminals than the other. Of course I can't check it since I don't have either battery.
My Description is, teh battery sits in teh back of the unit, there are three contacts at the top, offset to teh right. The terminal furthest right is negative ("-") and the left terminal is labeled for positive ("+"). The compartmetn seems 3.4 mm wide and 5.3mm high.
Good Luck. There are a lot of people interested in an alternate source.

The problem is NOT the cradle... the battery does not press firmly up against the internal contacts. Get a piece of paper and wedge it in there so the contacts are pressed firmly against each other internally... then all is good.
My remote was out of service for about 6 months because I thought the cradle was messed up and the battery wasn't charging... when in reality it is the battery contacts INTERNALLY that are not contacting firmly.
This trick fixed my problem and the battery charges just fine now... it no longer "flickers" when I place it on the cradle.
Hope this helps... good luck

I keep getting the message that my battery is low, but the 3 bars are full at the top. I have to press --> to get it to work again. Is my battery fried?

I too thought the battery needed replacing in my 880. Thanks to all that came before in the forum I did the following:
1) Cleaned contacts on the battery, in the battery compartment, on the back of the remote, and in the cradle w/ a cotton swab and alcohol.
2) Cut a piece of a business card to be the same size as the end of the battery (opposite from contacts).
3) Reinstalled battery, inserting the piece of card at the end away from the contacts to hold the battery firmly in place. Replaced cover. Placed in charger.
Now it works fine. Thanks again everyone.
