Harmony Remotes - Hardware

My Harmony 550 is not controlling my directv H20 receiver. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can solve this issue?

I'd check to see if the receiver is set to receive IR. It's in the menu somewhere.

i have a harmony 520 remote, thats not connecting to the h20 reciever.  it says it has been programed, however does not respond to any command given.  the remote has also been through countless learning sequences and still has not worked.  is there anything else that can be going wrong?

As Eric stated your DirecTV receiver is more then likely in RF mode.  You need to use the original remote to change it to IR mode. 

On the remote press Menu

From the Menu select Parental, Fav's & Setup

Select System Setup

Select Remote

On the lower right select IR/RF Setup

Use the up or down arrows to change from RF to IR. 

Press the Select Key on the remote and you should be good to go.

 I have a HR-21 and it may be a little different.

I have the same problem. I have a DirecTV with the H-20 receiver. I changed it to IR, and it still will not control the satellite receiver. I checked all the button configurations, and updated the firmware before updating.

Any ideas?

You probably just need to confirm a few IR codes.  In the software, click on the Device Tab, select your H20 receiver, Click on Settings, and click on Confirm infrared commands.  you will have to confirm a few button presses from your original DirecTV remote, when done update your remote.
