Harmony One Charging question?

Strange thing happened when I charged my remote for the 2nd time. First time there was a large battery in the middle 1/4 green in color with a lightning bolt "to show it was Charging" and the small battery on top. When it was fully charged the lightning bolt turned into a check mark and the large battery was fully green " to show fully charged:. This time no small battery on top kept it on cradle for around 18 hours and the large battery in middle still had a lightning bolt no check mark showing fully charged. When I took it off cradle the small battery is full. Thought when it was fuly charged the battery in middle should be full green and a check mark like the first time. Would figure 18 hours of charge should be enough first time I only charged it for 7 hours and it showed a fully charged signal. Is something wrong?? Also the first time I charged it it was not programed now there is a screen saver sort of thing after I see the large battery for a split second like diffrent colors on the screen for the 5 seconds the light is on. Thanks for any info..

Re: Harmony One Charging question?

I don't recall ever getting the check mark on my One...it's been fine for the month I've had it

Re: Harmony One Charging question?

I think there's a different charging sequence for the out of box firmware (non-updated) and once you put a config on it. It sounds like it's working fine.

Re: Harmony One Charging question?

Hi all, I've had my new Harmony one sitting in a charger for more than 12 hours and the charge indicator has not moved. The remote is working off the initial charge and the base works (LED lights). Is there suppose to be some sort of charge indication as mentioned in this thread; lightning bolt through battery? Any help is appreciated.

Re: Harmony One Charging question?

I experienced the same thing as ozcot with my new One...

The first time I charged the remote (straight out of the box) it initially showed a 1/4 green battery and the yellow lightning bolt (indicating the remote was charging).  After about 8 hours on the charging base the image changed to a fully green battery with a yellow tick (indicating the remote had fully charged).  The remote was then removed from the charging base, programmed and used.  The battery lasted for about 10 days.

The second time I charged the remote it initially showed a 1/4 green battery and the yellow lightning bolt (indicating the remote was charging).  After about 8 hours on the charging base the image had not changed.  The remote has now been on the charging base for more than 17 hours and still the image has not changed.

The only difference I can see is that the first charge was done before any programming had occurred.  I did download the latest version of the software (7.5.0) before programming, but I have not updated the firmware.

Can anyone from Logitech explain this behaviour change? (I'm looking for an authoritative answer here please).

Re: Harmony One Charging question?

the image difference is due to the programming/firmware on the remote.  once it was updated, the image will no longer change.

it's kind of odd, as it would be helpful to know it's fully charged.  however, given that the battery type doesn't have a memory, it's easy enough to just place it in the charger each night and by doing so it will always be ready for you each morning with a full charge

Re: Harmony One Charging question?

The battery indicators really don't mean much and they don't matter at all - they're more for decoration than information.

That's not a statement from authority, it's from experience. :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Harmony One Charging question?

Hello, my 1 month old ONE shows the battery symbol 1/4 green with lightning bolt when first placing in cradle then goes into slide show.  The 1/4 green is not showing battery condition but only showing that the unit is in charge mode.  Bob L.
