Harmony Remotes - Programming

Hi all,

I just bought a new Harmony 880 and set everything up...But at the end when it tries to send everything to the remote it hangs at 3% on "Communicating with your Harmony Remote" forever...I can walk away for an hour and it still is hanging there.

I'm on Vista 64bit if it matters....I successfully installed and updated the software (on version 7.4.3 now)..so some folks are running this fine on 64bit although the software update page says there's only a 64bit avail version if one is specifiacally offered in the downloads - and there's not...But looks like many people are fine on 7.4.3 with vista 64 so that should not be it...

I turned off firewall, virus scanner, malware protector, etc, etc...Makes no difference, still hangs at 3%...

Any help you can provide would be great...I just finished buying a new IR HDMI switch and cabling just so I can install setup this 880....

Hi.
Logitech are running changes to their site over the weekend so that may be the explanation.
Otherwise general internet connection problems are the usual cause and they soon go away.

OK, it's not 6/21 anymore, it's 6/22 now so logitech downtime should no longer be an issue and I've tried just about everything I can think of.

I still can't get past 3% updated to my Harmony 880, it will sit there all day.

Does anyone have any ideas for me to try?

Just to confirm: Vista 64b with version 7.4.3 should be OK.
I'd recommend passing this over to Logitech support now.

OK, keep at Logi until they provide a full solution!
It might even be a faulty remote.

I Just got a Harmony 1000 and facing the same problem... Any Idea??? My temporary solution is remove the battery and plug it back... Then it will magically pass the 3% hanging [Sometimes... At least it work.].

also, another thing to try, is updating via the web interface...sometimes doing that once, will eliminate that problem going forward.

my harmony 628 also have this problem.  I tried in both vista and xp and it's same.

I don't know whether it's a confilct with Norton Anti Virus since my both computer have it.

Hi All,

 guys, I have solved this tough issue.

 The problem exists on your language. since Harmony DO NOT support UNICODE,it hangs when it found some rare words in the file. My harmony runs fine when I delete all the Double-Byte-language word in my device 628.

 it won't stop on 3% now.
