Harmony Remotes - Programming

Hi all, just got my new Harmony One and trying to set it up with my media center (XBMC).

As a device the control works fine with the XBMC but when I create an activity using it I have a problem customizing the buttons. When I click "Customize buttons" the options are all blanked rather than containing the defaults from the device settings. This doens't happen on my other activities such as watching TV. Am I missing something???

I should probably also add that when I create an activity none of the buttons are set for the devices I've chosen. Is there a way to populate the button settings from a device or do I just have to start from scratch when creating a "generic" activity and assign all the buttons manually?

If you set up a "Utility" Activity, sometimes called "generic", then you do have to allocate all the buttons yourself.

For each button you select first the Device then the Command to allocate to the button.

It is much better to use a specific type from the extensive list of Activities.

Let us know if there is more to the problem than this.

Thanks HH, I will try different activity settings. Shame there isn't an option to populate the custom buttons with the buttons from a single device as a starting point, perhaps in a future version!
